But then again, it will be a huge gift to the Brexit Party not altogether a bad thing.

The only format that works in my eyes is a one-on-one with an interviewer like Andrew Neil. Avoids purile attacks and actually focuses on policy.

The conservatives have also reduced the number of police countrywide, and surprisingly nationally violent crime has increased as well. It's not rocket science, there is limits to what can be achieved with less resources.

There was even an initiative proposed to assist school dropouts as a solution towards solving the cause of violent crime. Proposed by police chiefs and Khan. It fell on deaf ears.

As you said, you don't really follow UK politics. But no, he said this last week and is talking about high earners specifically.

Boris Johnson has pledged to cut income tax for three million higher earners, in a move that would cost £9.6bn a year. The current frontrunner in the Tory leadership contest said he would raise the threshold for the 40p tax band from £50,000 to £80,000 if he becomes prime minister.

Seriously, the UK is in a right mess with regards to public services and policing etc due to government cut backs.

The poor have constantly had the amount at which at you pay tax lifted, and the super-rich have an army of tax advisors to minimise their tax exposure. Good on Boris for trying to help the middle class for once. £50 000 - £80 000 is not "super rich". Comfortably middle class.

So can you name me a vaguely conservative policy that Rory the non-Tory actually holds? He's just the Tory version of Tony Blair . Says things that are, on inspection, meaningless. He's getting support from the Hard Remain wing of the party (including Theresa May's deputy PM. Also strong rumours she voted for him, which wouldn't surprise me since he is a Theresa May arse-licker). He's being feted by people who will never vote Conservative. Fortunately the only people who get to vote in this election are not easily led by Channel 4/BBC/Sky News and are in fact far more wise than most lefties who seem to mindlessly parrot whatever the MSM tells them to parrot. LOL at the one with the only NEGATIVE rating...you wouldn't know this from the wall-to-wall positive coverage of Stewart.



Rory Stewart is all style and no substance

For Woke Britain, Stewart has now firmly established himself as the least-nasty member of the nasty party. That could help him pick up votes from Labour and Lib Dems in a general election, but it can’t help fill the enormous void at the heart of his pitch for the leadership. He is offering nothing other than the faulty deal which Theresa May negotiated with the EU last November and which has already been comprehensively defeated in the Commons three times – once by a record margin. It was defeated for very good reason: it would allow (in fact let’s be honest and say it was deliberately designed to do this) Britain to be trapped in the backstop indefinitely while we are forced to accept rules on trade and product standards but have no say in the making of those rules. There is no point whatsoever in bringing back this deal before the Commons. It will be defeated again and again – and rightly so. As for his offer to reach out to Nigel Farage, what is the thinking behind that? If you want to practise big tent politics you have to offer at least something to everyone you want to entice into it. Rory has absolutely nothing to offer Nigel Farage – who would far rather stay outside and pull out the guy ropes.

Rory says he doesn’t know where to start when listing his weaknesses, but I suggest that he puts at the top a failure of imagination and limited reasoning powers to think through a problem. He is all presentation and little substance – which makes him even more an archetypal politician than the opponents from which he is trying to distinguish himself.

Lol. I doubt it, you know nothing about my life. But fyi, my attitude comes exactly from growing up in a poor working class family. I left school at 15, did **** jobs for low money and had long bouts of unemployment. You see I survived on the exact policies they are cutting back on. And that system that is now being destroyed gave me an education starting University at the age of 28, for free, and for which I owe everything today.
