Thanks very much all for the vape suggestions - Really helps
With regards to the smell, does it smell the same as smoking a joint?

Another reason we are looking at the vape option is to try and avoid the smell left behind after smoking all night.

Thanks

Good luck with that, the smell from vaping is really "green" as you get to smell the terpenes whereas a joint is also smokey. We have a large stash of incense sticks obtained from the local flea market. Another odour buster is fragrance oil mixed with isopropyl in a spray bottle, which works amazingly well.

We smoke a lot in the car and the smell it leaves behind the next morning is horrid.

The "smell" (from vaping) -if you can even call it that- dissipates within *15 minutes or so.

*Hard to put a time frame to it, but it goes pretty quickly.

The smell from smoking and vaping are completely different. From vaping the smell is a lot 'lighter' and fresher - kinda smells quite nice -and as has been said, dissipates pretty quickly. Whereas the smell from smoking can be smelt miles away and lingers on the person as well as the car/room for hours. I dont think youd be able to smoke vape without someone in the same household smelling, but its like 90% less than that of a joint/bong.

I must be doing the vaping wrong as it can still be smelt for hours afterwards when incense or spray is not used.

Who is going to the Cannabis Expo in Menlynn this weekend ? I see Trichoma has stall #36

I'm gonna drop by sometime this weekend. Hope its good. From the looks of the pics on insta it looks really small.

Thanks for the responses guys.
Regarding the effect of vaping, how different is it?

Thanks

Completely different effect and experience than smoking, also depends on what quality product you use I suppose. I bought my first vape, a Magic Flight Launch Box about 6 years ago and had some difficulty at first but later on was really good after some practice and research (correct grinding consistency, packing and draw speed) . The smell is incomparable with smoking, the vapor doesn't even have the distinct weed smell or linger, more like the smell of freshly made pop corn for about 10 minutes, the smell of a tobacco cigarette is much more stronger. The high is a more cleaner and clear high than smoking.

Need some advice, apologies if it has been asked already...
My dad has cancer, and has decided to stop chemo. He says it simply makes him sick, and it hasn't had much effect on the cancer itself. So, we are basically into pain management now, and getting him comfortable. He drinks a handful of pills each day, which helps but has so many side effects. His doctors don't seem to be into trying alternative methods.
Any idea where to start, or which strains to try? I suspect we are looking for a high cbd strain with moderate thc. He can't smoke it, it needs to be something edible or easy on the lungs. He is keen to give it a try. I'm not trying to get him too high either, just more relaxed. Hopefully it helps with his appetite as well.
TIA

Hi all. I'm new here, so not sure if already been asked.

I'm looking at trying Non-circulating Hydro method (kratky method) for an outdoor grow.

My only concern is the heat, worried pot/water reservoir will get super heated in the day and dry the roots?

Anyone with experience using this method specifically outdoors or ideas how to manage the heat.

I'm using autoflower seed, and my understanding is they don't need as much light, so based on that thought about positioning them to get morning sun and shade in the afternoon to avoid the +30° direct sun.

Any ideas or tips would be great. Don't want my R100 beans turning into compost!

Hi there,

Have a look at Cannasutra.co.za for edibles and alternatives, my step dad was going through chemo and radiation etc. and i got some of the biscuits from Cannasutra and it really helped a lot, they also have the oils that does wonders for the pain and side effects.

Rather ask this in the Weed Growers thread.

This is more of a consumption page.

I think I know what you mean here.
When I was a young whippersnapper, I used to steal from my Dad's weed plants that he was growing in the back yard - Didn't quite know how to prepare it for smoking so myself and friends microwaved it, it left a very earthy and like you say "green" smell.

Sorry to hear about your dad having cancer.

Have you considered papaya? There are a number of studies done which show that carica papaya does not cure cancer but stops tumours from growing, while also increasing blood and platelet count.

Carica papaya seeds, pulp and leaves are also known for anti viral and anti bacterial properties as well as alleviating nausea, among a number of other benefits. There are a number of scholarly articles available demonstrating positive effects.

Smoking the leaves also creates a psychoactive effect.

I can only imagine you and your friends getting the munchies from sniffing all that greenness.
