The Division

I'm kinda put off by division as well, the whole bullet sponge thing is not really my cup of tea:erm:

Hi.

So firstly, i bought the hard copy of the game and everything works great. My brother liked what he saw and bought the game on steam and just copied the game from me. Now for some reason when he launches the game it says that he must enter the game key, but the game has already been activated on his steam and uplay.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What version did you purchase (Uplay or Steam)?

Your brother may have to uninstall/reinstall :(

Uplay, how do I get it into steam? What gfx card are you running?

I don't have the PC version

You can add the .exe as a Non-Steam Game to your library (under Games at the top of Steam), allowing you to utilize the Steam Overlay in Non-Steam games and in this instance - allow you to launch the game with additional options such as windowed mode

Anyone know if PlayStation Plus required for the Dark Zone?

While I haven't been in the Dark Zone, the physical game box says "Multiplayer: PS Plus required" on the back

I got it working, thanks. It just doesnt feel natural on PC, thankfully i didnt pay for it. Think its a bit over hyped. I'll just get quantum break for my xbox.

He bought the steam version. But that anyways takes you through uplay.

And what version did you get if I may ask?

Sounds like you have the Uplay version and he has the Steam version meaning his installation might be missing some files required by Steam

Possibly try 'verify local game files' through Steam on his PC?

does this game allow single player? or is it more of a multi player MMO?

would love to play, but the lack of an internet capacity is preventing me from doing this......

I spent the last 4 hours as single player and throughly enjoyed it. Will take longer but you will feel more accomplished

You can play this single player for sure. This game also allows for built in match making, so you can join randoms if you want to. But it does require a permanent internet connection. Same as Diablo 3

I am thinking of getting a ps4 with devision

Will devision be worth iit or will it be a waste of money?
Do you think the game does have potential?

I have played it a bit on my PS4 and I am really enjoying it a lot.

I was on the fence with this one but I am glad I got it.

so a permenet internet is a must? what speed? and how much does an average session consume data?

say I play for 2 hours on single player, how much data would that use?

Damn all these console purchasers :p
That being said I do have 2 people that I try play with when I see them online.

I've put in some good hours now, thanks largely to a new puppy keeping me home bound. I'm sticking with that reason.

While I am not an authority on this now, I will offer more of my perspective.
I am being drawn in by the loot-driven mechanics... quite heavily so in fact. Gear swapping can take me 30 mins as I try to balance better gear, with my choice of preferred stats.

For those who may want to know, you have 3 main stats: Firepower (I think) - controls damage, Stamina - controls health and Tech - controls skill output and recharge. Weapons (and gear at higher levels) gain Talents. Aside from High-End gear which have a Talent that will always be active, the rest of them have requirements which need to be met before they become active. This is normally a mix of any of the 3 main stats. Items can also have multiple Talents.

Moving on. I do prefer playing in a group as encounters and missions scale based on the number of players in a squad, increasing the challenge for me. To say it again, playing with people you know or at least with people who are able to communicate makes a big difference as sprinting from mission to mission and not being able to take in the scenery or explore a roof-top/sewer system, detracts a lot from my experience.

My current biggest con is that it seemed ludicrously quick to get to level 30. I'm only level 24, but there were reports on the first day of people hitting 30 in 15 odd hours. I understand that it may be Diabloesque in the sense that getting to max level should only be the start, but still... that is far to quick, even for those who ignored the majority of the game for missions.

I'd say I'm only now ready to venture back into the Dark Zone. I had another brief foray (at around level 12) and had my ass handed to me by one of the first NPC groups I encountered there.... about 6 times in a row.... as I was determined to teach Them a lesson. I managed to go DOWN a level and lose some precious DZ funds as a result. Lesson well learned. I will destroy them now.

Assuming you have any level of success in the DZ, the trick there is to only loot BETTER gear. White/Green and even Blue gear to a degree is easily obtained outside the DZ. You have 6 (can be expanded to 8) inventory slots in the DZ, so loot carefully. Then pray your extraction works out.

Overall I'm still enjoying The Division. I'm looking forward to finding my first High-End pieces of gear as well as the search for the perfect stats. Good times ahead :)

I have no idea on data usage per hour, but my line (normally 8 meg) was operating at 1 meg speed this past weekend and I was able to play just fine.

I'm still busy balancing and playing around with my items, skill, etc etc. Trying to figure out what works best for me and my group.

Also taking my time in getting to 30. Going through the missions and side missions one by one in each area. Also spent some time in Dark Zone, think I'm up to 17 there now. Had two really cool moments...

Managed to solo vs a two man rogue team, killing them both off. That was very satisfying. And then on Friday I was looting, and saw a 3 man rogue team coming down the road towards me... I had just picked up a new gun I really wanted, so I was pretty stressed about not getting killed. Managed to hide away between two cars, and stayed hunkered down for what felt like ages till they passed. Managed to get to extraction zone and get items out.

This game is definitely giving me some stressful moments, which I love. Very similar to when I first ever played Dayz.

Got to level 7 this sunday, taking it slow and having fun.

I hit 30 early Sunday morning :o

Once you figure out where the bulk xp comes from, it's very straight forward to figure out how to level quickly.

I don't regret hitting max level, as I have completed most of the map; all side missions are done, BoO is sitting on 100%...and I've got around 3 zones left to fully complete (clearing up the remaining Supply Encounters). Then it's hunting down all the Intel

Just waiting on friends to level up to 30 before we head into the DZ, but so far in my limited experience as a max level, Hard Mode Missions have been great fun :D
