The Division

This game is definitely giving me some stressful moments, which I love. Very similar to when I first ever played Dayz.

I can vouch for that. Had my first mistakenly-going-rogue situation last night. Cleaning out NPC's with another random agent. NPC runs in front of the other guy while he's reloading.... suffice to say he caught a few stray bullets. I kill the NPC, leaving one of them left out of the group we started engaging. The other agent seemingly took offence and instead opened up on me, with my 15s Rogue timer.

I proceeded to do all kind of acrobatics to find cover, after which I explained the mistake. He set his Seeker after me, which made me realise my apology was not accepted. After much tactical dancing, my timer ran down and I stood in the open proclaiming it. He shot me. After finding cover again, I thought about taking the moral high-ground here and illustrating to him that you don't just need to open up on anyone with a rogue counter. After emptying my LMG clip and chasing him into a large pack of NPC's who were sure to finish him off, I felt vindicated :)

I hit 30 early Sunday morning :o

Grats man. Most of what I've heard suggested that the game really only starts then. Would you agree?
Hit level 26 last night, but spent a bit of time trying to get my DZ levels up so I could use the vendors. Ended up getting a fair amount of DZ funds, but not so many levels. DZ Rank 12.

I do not agree :p

The only reason the game 'starts' at 30 is because you begin finding longer lasting drops/start building/specializing towards your chosen playstyle... Opposed to the gear you pick up while leveling that you replace frequently

NOTE: I still haven't stepped foot into the DZ myself

From what I've read, everyone seems to be complaining that the DZ vendors are a waste of time because of the following;

You can acquire High-End drops from level 32 bosses in the DZ (meaning any purple gear for sale is pointless)

EDIT: At 30 it rains Purples, trust me... think about how frequently you pick up Blue drops at the moment.

The best gear in the game is through crafted from blueprints (The best item level is 31) - These blueprints cost Phoenix Credits to buy (the vendor is the Special Gear vendor in the Tech Wing!) and the usual crafting material requirement HOWEVER the DZ Vendors that sell blueprints have the extra requirement in order to craft the High-End item, Division Tech - Crafting material only found in the DZ. As far as I know, you cannot upgrade this material through the Crafting Station... so you have to manually farm for High End materials :erm:

Any named level 30 boss inside/outside the DZ drops a couple (1-3) Phoenix Credits, Hard Mode Mission Dailies reward 15 once off each day and Challenging Mode Mission Dailies reward 30 (each time you complete the mission).

Finally and most importantly, you can lose DZ Levels...It may only take you a few days of grinding to Rank 30 BUT a couple deaths and suddenly you're back at Rank 25.

Ultimately players are all migrating towards Challenging Missions for progression because they feel the DZ isn't worth it. One final note... Challenging is nothing like Hard difficulty :p

So the idea is that we have a couple of MYBB groups that can join in when they are available.

Put a note about Mybb when sending friend requests!

Normally on in the evenings until 10pm, I can assist anyone below level 20 provided I "boost" you.

And I disagree here good sir.
Although not completely :p
I think it largely depends on what loot you're looking for. Now the DZ Chests on the otherhand, those have a reason to be complained about. Apparently at level 30 they still award blues..........

Division Tech - Crafting material only found in the DZ.

With 100% BoO unlock, you should have the perk that reveals all Division Tech in the DZ. While not a "solution" for the problem, it's helped me get some green tech so far. I don't have 100% unlock, but choose which upgrades to apply based on their perks before anything else. I sadly realised this rather late and thus can still only go into level 2 contaminated areas

Is this after the "nerf"? Seems to have riled some serious feathers on the reddit.

As for losing levels, been there, done that :p Happened on my first time in the DZ. Fortunately it was only from level 6 to level 5, so no biggie.

Yip, post-nerf :p

I won't even mention what the rewards used to be.

Now that I can safely say I've been into the DZ, previously mentioned High-End drops seem to be severly reduced from level 30 bosses.

Sadly read what the PC drops used to be like. At least I never experienced it, so it's technically no loss to me.

Regarding the High end drop rate, that makes me happy. If this is loot driven, you can't throw it all at a player and expect them to keep paying after a month. I remember when Vanilla D3 was out. Finding a Set drop made my heart flutter (even though it was guaranteed to have worse rolls than my yellows). That's kinda what I would like High end drops to be like.

I haven't played much in the last couple days, but managed to hit level 27 last night. Got my first purple drop. It made me feel giddy inside :D I also liked that fact that some missions are short, not all have the same pattern.

Out of interest, what are your loadouts like? My favoured as it stands now is SMG primary, LMG secondary. Due to the kick of the LMG, even with stability mods, I'm tempted to change to an Assault Rifle secondary.

So I haven't been able to play since Sunday due to my ADSL line being down within the complex(Long story, but not a Telkom fault) So right now I'm stuck at lvl 19.

I run with an Assault rifle in my primary slot, and the rotate between a sniper and a LMG in my second slot. I always like to keep one other type on gun on stand by in my backpack (either LMG or SMG), just in case I run out of ammo on my primary guns. Still trying to figure out what build I want though. I'll decide what is best for me when I hit 30. Which at this rate, won't be anytime soon.

Pity about your DSL being down :(

As for the weapon choices, I really thought I'd mainly be rocking a DMR after playing the beta. When I go solo it just doesn't really fit. As you start hitting late teens, early twenties, the engagements change from 2 - 4 hostiles, to 5 - 8. When all that firepower is explicitly coming your way, the delay between popping out of cover and the reticule focusing is enough for me to be plastered quite badly.

Haha, I had that same experience! Especially in the last 2 zones (26-28 and 28-30)

'Ok there are 3 enemies in the center of the road, nice and easy...'

*Engage*

8 more suddenly appear from behind a car

As for weapons, M1A is my goto Primary 'scout rifle' and I crafted a (few of these... all with shocking Talent rolls) Vector 45 SMG which I've yet to take into the field

I got to watch this at home last night. I know my view is skewed by the fact that I really enjoy this game, but the criticism that "bullet spongy enemies break the immersion of the real-world setting" is weak. I personally struggle with the idea that people seem to struggle divorcing a game from reality. That train of thought is seemingly prevalent though, as it seems to pop up fairly often...

Yea the number of times I start an engagement with the Rikers, suddenly to have a group of cleaners start attacking both the Rikers and I, was quite amusing. Well.... after I had killed them all, as it was more panicky during said events.

I'm up to level 29 now.... can almost smell the finish line. Started getting some purple drops, although I'm not using any of them currently. Looking forward to getting some high-end gear this weekend.

I'm only lv10 but I am enjoying this game a lot :)

Difficult to say if this game will last though. It's addictive and a tad repetitive at the same time. Hope DLC will carry it further.

I haven't gone to the PvP section yet but I imagine that's fun also.

While I haven't watched the quoted review, I took a look at the chaos IGN caused in TheDivision subreddit... they also blame the bullet sponges

WTF, it's an RPG... /facepalm

It's not a simple case of;

Hit 30

Begin acquiring HE drops (drop rates were severely nerfed)

It's more;

Hit 30

Gear up towards full purples while aiming for roughly 1800+ of all stats - this is the generic base recommendation as Stamina/60k HP is the most important stat to hit and this will unlock most purple weapon Talents (HE Talents require 2.2k) . Tanks/Healers would focus Stam/Elec... DPS would focus on Stam/Firearms

Slowly begin acquiring Phoenix Credits to purchase HE blueprints through Hard Mode Missions (full purples make this a very easy daily to complete) or through the DZ

Once you have full purples and the stat requirements, then attempt Challenge Mode and gear towards full golds through drops/blueprints

All the while building into a playstyle that suits you :p

Nah, I'm KINDA prepared for that. I'd already unlocked most stuff from the UPlay rewards section, and have some points left over. How much are the BP's? I could probably get 120 Phoenix Creds as soon as I hit 30. Well that and I've been saving cash (there's a vendor that sells one or 2 isn't there?). The Dark Zone stuff I'm going to need to work harder towards... only DZ rank 16 now :(

Currently level 18.

PC: medicnick83

HAH another PC player.... I shall add ye tonight.
Drop me an invite if you want to team up/want some help.

It may be a bit ridiculous at first as my gear outlevels the areas you're in, but when you start getting into the 20's it will start evening out.

Armor BPs are between 80-100, Weapon BPs are between 140-200. This vendor is located to the left of the Tech Wing laptop

How are you able to get some many pCreds as you hit 30?

Cash vendors:

Each safehouse vendor (including the BoO) has 1 purple for sale each day (these are different at each vendor!). Armors are roughly 30k and weapons are roughly 60k

At the back of the Security Wing (technically to the right of the Reward Claim vendor if you face him), there is an Advanced Weapons vendor - He sells 2 purple weapons and 2 high end weapons (480k each) for cash

EDIT: A heads up regarding DZ vendors

You only have to purchase the item/blueprint with the required rank - you do not need to maintain DZR30/50 to equip the item

Im not sure how it works on consoles, but log into the uplay client, go to The Division, then Rewards.
Aside from cosmetics (a weapon skin, baseball apparel, broker outfit etc) there are some ingame items.

As far as I recall 30 Uplay points gets you some blue crafting tech and 40 points gets you 30 Phoenix Credits. These are points you generally earn by just playing the game and unlocking achievements.

As for the cash vendors..... BAH!!! I'm a long way from 480K credits. Will possibly need to look at selling stuff instead of recycling it all!

Can you say how much high-end tech is needed to craft a weapon? Based on the +1 requirement per level, it seemed like purples would used around 24 or 25 blue tech to craft a level 30 weapon.
