Sorry to hear ... I was thinking about installing MXPlayer myself. Let us know if it happens again while you are running that app. I guess you will be needing a toothpick and a microSD card :)

@Yotch...
Yup, Will have to install the rom as it just wont boot anymore. But will wait till Avsupply replies back to see if he has any other ideas.
The only thing i am worried about is loosing the XBMC setup that was there with Aeon Nox skin. I quite liked it.

Don't worry, the new firmware install will put back the Aeon Nox skin and all the add-ons. The first time that I tried I didn't wait long enough for the firmware to finish installing and XBMC didn't customise properly. Everything worked out fine the second time around though. If you are worried about losing your microSD card inside the case, I taped a small piece of thin cardboard of the same width/thickness to the back of the card which makes it easy to push it against the spring while loading the card. The cardboard mustn't overlap onto the card though just push against the back edge.

@Yotch. Tubitv seems good but won't allow me to play any of the content. I've only tried it on the DroidTV where I tried both Chrome & stock browsers. Error for links clicked: "Error loading player: No playable sources found.". Could it be the browsers? What browser were you using on your MX2?

I have managed to get Tubitv running via a flash enabled Dolphin browser on the MXIII. You should also be able to get it running on the MX. After installation make sure that Jetpack is enabled in the settings menu (dolphin icon) and choose Desktop for the User Agent in the Customize menu.

Dolphin browser app

Dolphin Jetpack (may also be necessary)

Modified Flash player for KitKat (only for MXIII - do not use on MX - Flash should already be installed)

Here is some information regarding recording of PVR IPTV Simple Client streams. It appears that you need to use VODServer/Mediaportal to be able to record which sounds like a lot of work!

Hi iru786,

First check the power supply. Do you still have your Q7? It has the same power rating and will work on the MXIII

If you get the same result, I'll mail you the latest firmware update. I have a more recent version which I'm putting together, should be uploaded by tonight

Hi AVSupply,

The frequency switcher works 100% thanks a lot!

I've set it to change the plasma to 50 HZ for 23.976 fps movies - and it does that.

The only thing now, is that the video framerate sync (which is set from inside XBMC Video settings) does not seem to do its job. When set to "Video clock", it should speed up the 23.976 fps to 25 fps. I normally check this when opening up the codedec info (pressing "o" on keyboard during playback). The last row on this info bar should start with S ("sync info"), which shows the sync error margin etc. This row is not displayed, which makes me think that the "sync framerate video settings" is not being activated.

Do you know more about this maybe?

Thanks

Hi leonb

I'll see if there's a fix for that

Oh boy..... Is it just me or does the IPTV EPG have absolutely NO baring on what's currently being televised on ANY of the channels? Date & time shown on EPG are correct.

That's because the channels are for another timezone. You go into the settings for the EPG under UPTV (system - addons - enabled addons) and set the offset for the channel to -2 hours for british tv, etc.). You will need to reset the guide data and exit XBMC as well before it will reload and work.

Be very careful with those - you can switch the polarity - make 100% sure you have it the right way around. Also, I'm not convinced those general purpose switching supplies are all that accurate. If you absolutely have to use one, rather go with the 1a version.

@ Arietans...
what do you mean by 1a version? I dont have much idea about power adapters so rather ask than blow things up.

How to prevent the Mele F10 pro controller sound issue

The Mele F10 pro controller comes with built in sound but it's designed specifically for the Mele TV box and doesn't work on other makes. When connected to other boxes, it causes android to switch to the Mele F10 sound card which disrupts video playback (stuttering) and there's no sound.

There are two ways to resolve this:
1. (Less technical) Install Soundabout and make sure that HDMI is selected as the sound output (or whatever output you are using - in other words, not USB which is the Mele device). Some people have reported an issue where the HDMI option disappears from soundabout which requires a reinstall of the app to bring it back.

2. (a little more tech but permanent - my personal fav.) Install ES File explorer and edit the audio policy file to disable USB as an audio option
  • Recommend you do this with a proper keyboard / mouse attached.
  • Install and run ES File Explorer
  • Under tools (left), make sure root explorer is 'on'
  • Click root explorer and then Mount R/W - make sure /system is set to RW
  • Then under local (left), select / then in the main window navigate to /system/etc and click 'audio_policy.conf' to edit it (chose ES Note Editor)
  • Click the menu and select 'edit'
  • Find the line that starts with USB and comment out all the lines in that section like this:
Code:
# usb {
# outputs {
# usb_accessory {
# sampling_rates 44100
# channel_masks AUDIO_CHANNEL_OUT_STEREO
# formats AUDIO_FORMAT_PCM_16_BIT
# devices AUDIO_DEVICE_OUT_USB_ACCESSORY
# }
# usb_device {
# sampling_rates 44100
# channel_masks AUDIO_CHANNEL_OUT_STEREO
# formats AUDIO_FORMAT_PCM_16_BIT
# devices AUDIO_DEVICE_OUT_USB_DEVICE
# }
# }
# inputs {
# usb_device {
# sampling_rates 8000|11025|16000|22050|32000|44100|48000
# channel_masks AUDIO_CHANNEL_IN_MONO
# formats AUDIO_FORMAT_PCM_16_BIT
# devices AUDIO_DEVICE_IN_USB_DEVICE
# }
# }
# }
  • Click back then save.
  • After that reboot (not sure if it's required, but it won't hurt).

Problem sorted!

Found another power adaptor in old computer parts box but its got a different type of pin at the end...

Says
Input : 100-240V ~ 300mA
Output: +5V --- 2A Max

If this can work than may be i can see if i can get a some kind of converter for the end connector
