@Awesum: Just check with AVSupply. That option might not be working with the firmware that has been installed.

Just finished off an M8 ROM update. I'll work on a custom ROM for you next

It will have the same MXIII XBMC and launcher changes

Thanks Guy, I'm having a look at that other thing we discussed earlier, misplaced it slightly due to work constraints .... :-)
 
Have you set your audio correctly in XBMC to either 5.1 or 7.1 respectively? Also did you enable audio pass through as well?

These settings are hidden under Expert:

Settings, System, Audio output

Netflix, Hulu can only output Dolby digital. On Android it might require additional work. Plex must work. Have you tried another optical input and or cable? Maybe its a firmware issue?

Does Mx player output any sound at all?

I only get sound over hdmi. Unfortunately my av receiver doesn't have hdmi inputs.
My roku works on the same cable/input.

Could someone perhaps provide an idiot's guide to flashing a new ROM please? I have a Minix X8-H which has an aggravating "random black screen" that I'd like to try and fix with a newer version.

The toothpick method is mentioned in the opening post.
What firmware are you using? That Minix X8-H looks a bit like the M8 which ASupply is releasing a new rom for. That said, I'm not sure it's compatible so I'm not qualified to comment.

Thanks, I'll check the guide out. It's currently on the stock firmware, so I'll try the recommened Minix beta version first. If the issues persists, I'm returning the unit to Geekbuying and getting an MXIII from Avsupply!
 
Are there any new roms available for the mx2 (the one that you buy from Avsupply) I would like to update mine to look (and hopefully work) as good as the m8 or mx3. I bought mine from Avsupply a year ago, besides from using the OTA updater I haven't done anything to it...yet

Hi there

If you bought it a year ago, you might still be running the DroidTV firmware. What boot image do you see when it starts?

Its the normal matricom one, with the little green android guy in the O. My launcher is the 3d one which circles around. Is there anyway of getting the one tiled one?
