@silkman: I'm really hoping that either the Paragon app or the new PSU solves your problem!

Did you have any luck with getting your ADSL line speed increased to 2Mbps?
Thanks yotch.
My line is now syncing at 2Mbps. I still get lots of buffering from some streams though.

Tried with LAN and connects fine to all services except Google Play and Youtube. In fact, even the GMail app will not connect. SO frustrating. My phone uses the same wifi and all apps etc. work fine. In the browser on the box, anything Google login related says that the page may have moved and a pop-up appears with an error instantly.
Uninstall both the Google Play and YouTube apps. Then download the apk's and reinstall them. See if you can find an older version of both apps, and see if it works.

Hi AVSupply,

The frequency switcher works 100% thanks a lot!

I've set it to change the plasma to 50 HZ for 23.976 fps movies - and it does that.

The only thing now, is that the video framerate sync (which is set from inside XBMC Video settings) does not seem to do its job. When set to "Video clock", it should speed up the 23.976 fps to 25 fps. I normally check this when opening up the codedec info (pressing "o" on keyboard during playback). The last row on this info bar should start with S ("sync info"), which shows the sync error margin etc. This row is not displayed, which makes me think that the "sync framerate video settings" is not being activated.

Do you know more about this maybe?

Thanks

Hi leonb

Got it working :)

Copy zip to external drive, launch XBMC and choose to install addon from zip file (If it complains about dependency problems, just install again).

After installing, go to XBMC Apps and launch "Frequency Switcher". Select "framerates" and choose the ones you want to use, or modify/add your own before saving the configuration. Now go to service and choose the framerate you want to default to on movie start and exit. Keep notifications on so that you can see what XBMC is adjusting the framerate to. Save configuration again and relaunch XBMC to start the service.

That's it!

Thanks AVSupply, uninstalling made the picture stutter worse and still no sound, but then installed the latest version from the app store and it has all the options available...selected hdmi and running smoothly!
Appreciate the quick feedback!!

Hi, from time to time, I've noticed that you go into soundabout and HDMI is not present. What I've taken to doing is just to go to play store, search soundabout, uninstall and reinstall (very quick) - that seems to sort it out.

What I will do - and I know others have done - is figure out how to permanently disable the internal sound card on the MX10. I'll figure it out and post instructions here - that way no soundabout required and it's apparently foolproof.

The picture stuttering is directly related to the sound issue. Switching to HDMI output for sound sorts it (hence soundabout). I'll see if we can resolve this for good.

Live stuff has only really worked for me on a capped account. Even my 10Mbps uncapped account buffered from time to time. Switching to capped has solved my woes. Now I just schedule downloads to happen after 12 (will post details on that) on my Telkom account which offers free bandwidth between 12 and 7.

Those apps (Youtube & Google Play) do not show up in the list. The only apps which show in that list are facebook, Netflix, Hulu+ , Plex Twitter and XBMC.

Ok, found the apps, cleared cache for Google Play... but no go. Cannot establish a reliable connection.

I had this - it was crazy frustrating - turns out it was because my date and time was out. Google services require HTTPS which fails if your date and time is not set correctly. Make sure you're in Harare timezone as well if you're in SA. Let us know if that solves it.

Cool thanks, its a great remote and a permanent fix would make this the ideal package imo!

that type of gyroscopic mouse/keyboard that's backlit would be #1

Anything like that on the cards for the future Jacque? ^^;;

Another XBMC noob question.

So I followed the IPTV video tutorial.
Where's the d@mn LIVE TV menu?
Don't see it.
It IS enabled under, system, live tv

edit: I saw the EPG's being loaded after reboot of XBMC

@AlexFI: The best free replacement for Unotelly is www.dns4me.net. Other options are jsheed_sa's 154.127.60.71 or the free PlaymoTV service 214.5.182.127 and 213.5.182.117. You could also try www.dnseraser.com.

If you install version 2.14 of the Hulu app you should be able to watch quite a bit of free Hulu content on the DroidTV. Take a look at www.usdrama.net or www.shush.se via a web browser to see if there is anything there of interest. You could also look at www.tubitv.com for less commercial content or www.ora.tv which carries Larry King Now etc.

Hulu 2.14 app

@Yotch. Tubitv seems good but won't allow me to play any of the content. I've only tried it on the DroidTV where I tried both Chrome & stock browsers. Error for links clicked: "Error loading player: No playable sources found.". Could it be the browsers? What browser were you using on your MX2?

@AVSupply got some sort of noob guide for XBMC ?

Under the sportsdevil menu, wiziwig - can't watch the rugby (flash stream) I take that's a xbmc thing (can't play flash)?

Also the normal Hulu app posted earlier shows time and date is incorrect, but Netflix works.

@Yotch, another : There's an option to record in IPTV. How can I get it to work? It speaks of a back end...

Oh boy..... Is it just me or does the IPTV EPG have absolutely NO baring on what's currently being televised on ANY of the channels? Date & time shown on EPG are correct.

@raind33r: Are you still using the jsheed_sa's DNS? You can't access Hulu using that DNS on android. Try changing to one of the other free DNS services such as www.dns4me.net, www.dnseraser.com or the Hulu only DNS, www.What24.net. You can also try the free PlaymoTV addresses 214.5.182.127, 213.5.182.117.

It seems that you can no longer access TubiTV directly from a browser. Here is the android app - I will try to test it this evening.

Ok have an issue here..XBMC keeps 'scanning for new content' and dont know why and from my logs this line is prominent:
'WARNING: CDVDMessageQueue(video)::Get - asked for new data packet, with nothing available' Does anybody know what does that mean?

@stepper: This is from Davilla - the guy who ported XBMC to the ATV2, android and the Amlogic players ...
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=116411&pid=955161#pid955161

Made some progress in determining the cause of constant library update. The scanning/update happens when 'Control xbmc by HTTP' is enabled and now how do I determine which program is sending update commands to xbmc?

Hi Guys...
Got a strange issue with my MX3.... It was working fine and suddenly it froze with display gone blank. Power off / on wont work so i took the power cable off and put it no again. The box started to reboot but is now stuck at Mbox logo which keeps on flickering. It seems that there is a message box displayed after each scrolls of light (Progress bar kind of effect) on Mbox logo but its too fast to see see anything.
Any ideas what might be wrong?

@iru786: It sounds as though something has become corrupted. What app were you running when this happened? You'll probably need to get the firmware from AVSupply unless he has a better idea. I have a copy of the firmware for the 1GB MXIII with the Realtek RTD8188 WiFi adapter but the latest machines now use the AP6181 which needs a different build.
