Droid Junior has arrived

So I played with my unit lastnight and playback is super smooth!

The interface isn't as snappy as the MXIII but it looks great and performs well

I think the newer version of the Mediabox launcher will run better on the MXQ. I'm going to install it today and run some more tests

Hey all,

I'm proud to be a part of a real droid family now :)

Ordered a MXIII from AVSupply on Monday, got it on Wednesday due to the fact that I'm based in the Jungle .. Mpumalanga :crying: The courier phoned me prior to delivery (something that rarely happens). I was a bit skeptical at first as I know the Android box scene for many years. This will be my 4th Android box and I'm pleased to say that I will never look back at getting any other as this is the best out there. Not even the mighty Minix X8 can compete with this amount of customization.

So far everything is going excellent and the user interface is fast and fluid. The product screams quality through and through. It even freakin looks good. Boot up time is better than what I've seen on other boxes, and I can now tell that AVSupply is pretty damn awesome when it comes to ROM customization.

The Amlogic chips are the best on audio and visual, and I have heard that the Linux builds are to be released shortly that boots you straight into XBMC. The XBMC portion on this ROM is off the hook and I know I'll get miles out of this box due to constant firmware updates to make it better and better. I have setup all of my programs without a hitch and saving power from moving away from a traditional PC and saving money in the long run.

Decided I'm taking today off work to play with my new toy :erm:

PS: Don't judge me ... my boss already does :p

Thanks, glad to be on board. Now to watch some more TV on the MXiii, I decided I'm downgrading my DSTV package as of now as there is a lifetime of tv on XBMC that I didn't know about as the add-ons just work and got a capped account from my ISP that's unshaped as I know my usage of the last 6 months. Saving money is where it's at and going green also works with my favor. Between 3 and 5 watts of usage on the unit ... awesomeness. Shaving R200 of my ISP costs as well going capped and shaving R200 bucks off my DSTV.

Wicked :)

@Iceman Hi Bud, I buried my Geniatech box with all it's issues ... It just died on me and I'm not shipping it back to China as it will cost me and arm and leg and maybe a kidney :) Moved over to the MXiii and the experience is pretty decent.

Nope. When I tried it it asked me to select an add-on. I didn't know what to select so I switched it off.

Ok, go "System >> LiveTV >> Enable = On"

Exit out and you should see the EPG downloading

So much of pages to read through, so just easier to ask here.

My current setup is:
- a PC downstairs connected to the TV which I use for movies, series (all through Plex Media Server) and Netflix via browser, connected via WiFi
- an AverMedia media player upstairs (master bedroom), hard wired in, can access Plex shares, but has no Netflix app

I want to:
- move the media server PC upstairs into the study, therefore need a media player downstairs connected to the TV (it's a smart TV, but the sharing doesn't work so great and region locked so can't get Netflix on it)
- get rid of the AverMedia player, and have a media player upstairs, wireless that I can access the media server PC and use Netflix.

The DroidTV's look pretty cool. Can I do all of this on a Droid Junior?
It needs to be wireless, and I need to able to Plex, Netflix and YouTube.
