The Droid TV thread

Can anyone reccomend droidtv that 100% works with 3TB Seagate Expansion Drive?

Fransh avsupply is currently testing drives and power supplies. I've had issues with Adata and Seagate drives (1TB and 2TB)that can't be powered up with the droid (even with Y cables).
Avsuppply should have an answer for us by this week.

Thanks Yotch

I used the latest available firmware on raind33r's MXIII, so it might have a more recent version of Netflix installed

raind33r, please uninstall the version on the MXIII and test Yotch's suggestions. If they work, I'll check what version is installed on your firmware and update it if proven to be problematic

Thanks

Thanks Yotch and AV supply.
Downloaded and will install later and test.
Got a bit late last night to fiddle around with apk's and whatnot, so streamed to the MXIII from my plex box instead ;)

Noob wrt apk's. So installing the apk I just put on a flash drive and insert on MXIII and use the app manager?

Great awaiting reply from them before I buy anything.

Hi Fransh

If it's a 3TB powered drive, you'll be fine

And 2.5" USB powered drives also work very well on the MXIII

@silkman, I'll let you know in the next couple of days. If unsuccessful, I'll try and get you a 5V3A power supply to test on your MX2

Correct

Oh and your MXIII is rooted, I purposely remove the SU application to prevent unneccessary alerts. If you need to do some special app tweaking, install the SuperSU apk

I love the service from AVSupply. I am happy to pay what I did.
After sales service is very important.

For what it's worth Avsupply went out of their way for me (even on a weekend).
This is very important for a tech tard like me.
Currently he's trying to sort out my HDD issue- and if he doesn't will m**r him :)

LOL

Hopefully it doesn't come to that :)

You guys don't know who you dealing with- Hell hath no fury like somone who can't get his HDD to work with his droid :)

that alone should strike no fear in anybody... If you cant get your HARD DRIVE working on your DROID, i would seriously consider seeking medical advice :D

Thanks Yotch and AV supply.

Ok AV Supply, Yotch - I tried both those APK's with similar result as the original that came on the device.

Still the same "check network setting, date & time. -3" error. This is after the login prompt. So it does get to Netflix. It's after I type in my user name and password.
Yes I'm using the right credentials. Logged in from my pc on the same network - no problem.

Also I changed from WiFi to wired connection - still no joy :(

@silkman: Do you possibly have an old desktop PC that you could use to test?

Remind me what service you use to bypass location detection and how is it set up? (e.g. uno telly dns service on the router).
Thanks

@raind33r: I am running 3.7.1 and will check for you now.

EDIT: Netflix seems to be working for me. It sounds as though your Unotelly is not set up correctly as Arietans mentioned.

You could also try jsheed_sa's DNS: 154.127.60.71. You don't need to update your IP all the time like Unotelly. This should work for Netflix but not Hulu on the DroidTV.

Unotelly app on the droid tv.
Anything in particular I should check?
I tried both the top 2 options (option 1 UK option 2 US) and the "Netflix" option set to UK

How frustrating

Have you tried setting a static IP and DNS address on the MXIII?
