The Droid TV thread

@Awesum: Have you tried to reduce the resolution? The android app only supports high and low resolutions and doesn't switch down automatically from my experience. If I have any buffering issues I just select the lower resolution manually and it usually streams fine after that. You should be able to adjust the resolution from the gear icon on the progress bar - click on the low setting.

Can I access normal Windows shares?

Plex handles all my series, however, something that's not handled by that will just be in a network shared folder, so I need to be able to get to that, as well as Plex.

I did lower the resolution and the buffering stopped however the picture quality looks worse than SD on my 60" TV. My Roku streams Hulu in HD without any buffering.
The picture quality of most of the live TV streams are also terrible. Nowhere close to Netfix or Hulu on the Roku.

Guys, sorry to dumb it down again around here just want to ask what I lose (settings, favourites, etc) by changing skins (MXii)? Please? Thanks.

A skin won't remove your settings or favourites, but it might move things around a bit

@Awesum: Hulu Plus usually works very well for me on the MXIII. The maximum resolution is limited to 480p on most android devices but the S802 processor handles the interface much better than my Roku HD. What linespeed/ISP are you using? It is possible that the android app is connecting to a different server than the Roku. You should be able to stream most of the same content from usdrama.net or shush.se in HD if you have a decent internet connection.

I'm on a 10 meg uncapped priority account. Hulu only does 720P in general which is a shame. I also think the server could play a role. the Roku is a dual core machine last time I checked so that would be why @Yotch gets better response on the UI. My latency is usually between 15 and 20.

Feeeback: I received the power supply that avsupply sent me and my hdd is working 100%.
Thanks for everything J- awesome service as usual.
@yotch thanks for all your help as well bro.

Ps. Can I leave the hdd on all the time like my droid? Will it shorten the lifespan of the hdd?

I checked my version again. It's 2.13.1

I have a 4meg line. It's doesn't look like I'll ever get 10 meg here.

I can get 440KB/s but it's runs just under 200 when HULU is playing.

HDD life time should shorten if you have excessive read and writes.
Like downloading 24/7 like me.
Get a cheap drive to use or better ... a NAS :-)

Hi
How do you stream content from usdrama.net or shush.se on the droid tv?
Thanks
Regards

@gopes: You can stream from usdrama.net using the standard browser - just choose the link for non-flash enabled browsers below the first streaming window. You will need to install the Dolphin browser plus Jetpack and Adobe Flash to stream from shush.se as mentioned by JvanD. If you have stability problems with Dolphin browser you may need to use Phrozin's tip and turn on the Status bar in the coloured Settings menu under Display.

@silkman: Great to hear that AVSupply sorted out your problem! That USB 3.0 portable hard drive seems to require a pretty substantial power supply.

Just wondering why people look at different sites to stream series. I use Genesis on XBMC/Kodi and it has nearly every series you can think of.
