The Droid TV thread

@bierman just hit the factory reset button. I don't know what I'm talking about, so you might not want to do that. ;) otherwise just blame JVan

:D I like those essays. It's the only time I do research like a mad man trying to understand things like that. Lol

Yeah, one needs some motivation I reckon, but sometimes the gods are against us

Hi bierman

That's the Matricom 3D Launcher which doesn't allow much customization. Your best bet is to install a launcher like "nova"

Is there a Spiderman Launcher J? Nova is great though ;) slick launcher, along with Aviate, Apex and Solo Launcher.

I am sure that you will be very happy with it! Post again if you need any help with getting it set up.

Awesome thanks very much. Now I wait in anticipation. I think I missed the cut off time and will only get my toy on Friday, not tomorrow

But that's fine, it gives me the weekend to play.

Hi Everyone,

Crossposting this from the mbox forum as this place seems to have more traffic... hope that's not a problem.

I've got a DroidTV MXIII (2GB) on order. While I'm waiting for the stock to arrive I have a few questions I'm hoping someone can answer:

1.) What speed in the wi-fi running at? The info on the S802 chipset indicates it only has a 100Mps NIC. Does that mean the wi-fi has similar limitations? I'm assuming it's at least 802.11n... hoping for 802.11ac :-)

2.) My planned setup is as follows: DroidTV gets content from NAS (via wi-fi using NFS or SMB) which is sent (preferably at the video's original resolution) to an Onkyo 608 Receiver which will do the upscaling (it rather good at that) before putting it on my TV.
Will this work as intended?

3.) Will my user experience be superior to using a traditional media player (WD TV, Mede8er, etc.)?

Thanks in advance.
