The Droid TV thread

Tricky? Like Run DMC tricky?

It's Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time
It's Tricky...it's Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Tricky)

Yes
I like how I'm even more confused now than when I asked the question lol

Ice ... It can be done, in theory and the sky is the limit provided how far (or not) someone wants to go in compiling this driver. The right kernel sources needs to be obtained, hopefully it's open source and not limited, stock kernels needs to be obtained ... Patched etc. etc. etc. ... This needs to be patched and version control needs to get done and then your not even 1/5 steps there. It gets hairy very quickly.

is it possible to see the droidTV's XBMC installation files via a PC somehow? I will need to modify some files (advancedsettings.xml, etc)

Aah I see Jvan. So basically some sort of hack needs to take place. Not for me to do myself then. Far too complicated

Which firmware are you on? Kernel version and build number?

I'm on Build 110k4, Kernel 3.10.33
XBMC is 13.2

Audio settings are on HDMI Passthrough to receiver.
Content is coming from NAS over CAT6 cable via NFS share.

Sorry dumb question ... Did you try reseating your HDMI cable? Also try another cable. Also in Mbox settings try to "force" your desired HDMI output setting.

Display, HDMI auto detection set to off and select your required setting ... e.g. 1080p 60HZ.

How do I get my bluetooth ps3 controller to connect with the MXQ? Currently I have it plugged in via USB

You can use ESFile explorer to copy to your PC. Modify it on the PC and copy it back, I use it for my Sickbeard config files and other ini files that is too lengthy to configure else where.

I have that app installed, but no idea how to configure it. Have Jaque dropping off a replacement remote tomorrow, so will hear by him

Yup... done all that.
It's just the playback that stops; the DroidTV itself doesn't freeze up so I don't think it has anything to do with the HDMI cable or the signal path. I suspect it's a decoding issue... When I press "play" the video plays normally but the sound is all garbled. Sounds like a high-pitched modem. When I stop playback and return to the XBMC interface and restart the video there (picking up from where it left off), everything is back to normal.

Hmmm ... Which Droid TV Box do you have? Also which XBMC or Kodi version? Also is the issue only on certain files or video codecs or all of them? Does it happen sporadically? My MXIII hasn't done it but it would be interesting if we can find out what causes this behaviour.

DroidTV MXIII running XBMC 13.2.
I've only used the media player for a couple of weeks on and off. I've had it happen maybe 6-10 times so far. No clear pattern but most of my content is 720p+ and either DD or DTS. It seems to happen more recently but it's hard to be sure.

Thats a lot more than it should happen IMHO. Let's see if we can find a solution for you. I play DTS and DD fine on my end, give us some time sure we can find out why.

Try and RIP a Bluray disc, and see how that Bluray iso plays. Perhaps the files you are playing are a bit messy, or the way it was downloaded didn't download properly. Re download it and try again.

Jaque do I need to still do this step?

If not alreadydone, you must manuallypairthe controllerwith yourphone. This can be done using'SixaxisPairTool' , orwith 'MotionInJoy' orthe linux utility 'sixpair'. Your phones bluetooth address should be shown at the bottom ofthe mainapplicationwindow andwilllook something like1A:3C:13:00:21:C2 ; you need to enter this number into the 'SixaxisPairTool' asshown. This process only needs to be done the first timea controlleris used on a different device, so ifyou only use the controlleron one phone, you willonly need to do it once.
