The Error Code 619 thread

A sudden Error 619?

Hey,
So my Huawei E220 was working fine , and then one day suddenly, it decides to piss me off :/
it's not working at all, although I can see the network fine, everything is what its supposed to be, except it cant connect at all. I tried the usual, another PC, another cable, but nothing.

(BTW, I am the guy from Egypt)

Does this mean this a network problem, or what?

619 means ppp link was terminated. Normally this is because you have no airtime or data bundle left or your apn is incorrect or when the network is down.

So:
A> Confirm you have airtime or data bundle left
B> Check your access point is Internet or InternetVPN.
C> If above 2 are true then it sounds like it may be a network error.

We have had the same problem on MTN from Tuesday evening, but this only happens at night. I have no idea why its doing this.

Any info will help us aswell.

1) Well, I doubt its an airtime problem, I'm subscribed to the 4 GB package, and that's only from less than a week ago! And even if I did finish it(although I would never manage to do that), they allow you to go beyond the limit.
2) I'm using the same settings I've used everytime..

Maybe I should wait till tomorrow and see if it gets fixed?

Has this issue been resolved?

I have an E220 with VMC 9.3 which worked for about 2 weeks now. It stopped working. I reinstalled VMC out of desperation. Still got the error. After a couple of Connect tries, finally got it to connect. What is causing the RAS 619 error?

In your case its most likely a Network related error. Are you perhaps on Prepaid?

I have an E220 with VMC 9.3 which worked for about 2 weeks now. It stopped working. I reinstalled VMC out of desperation. Still got the error. After a couple of Connect tries, finally got it to connect. What is causing the RAS 619 error?

619 just means 'could not connect' and includes any possible cause for the connection to not be created, from lack of money, PC problems, signal issues, network problems, etc.

Only way to find the actual cause is to carefully test each step along the way and see where it fails.
 
I haven't had 619s in quite some time, but lately more often than not I get 618 errors
 
I had the same error RAS 619, The modem and software see each other and it finds a connection to GPRS or 3G but on connection it comes up with this error.


I ended up calling Voadfone(my supplier) and they had turned the device off and they didnt even know why. They turned it back on and im back up.

I have an hsdpa phone that i use to dial up via usb cable, anyone know know how to fix this problem ?

It worked yesterday afternoon, but last night i started getting this error, this morning i still couldnt dial up.

I have tried rebooting both phone and pc multiple times, nothing works :(

any ideas ?

Try checking your Airtime/Bundle Balance?

Maybe a stupid question; Do you have funds on your SIM?
 
Hi,

As previously stated checking that u have sufficient airtime, data bundle remaining t make a connection is a good start as a 619 error generally refers to a problem with the sim card. Here is what you can do to test.

1 - Check to see if u can connect to the internet browser on the phone.
2 - Check the Funds and/or Data bundle remaining.
3 - Resend the Gprs setings to the phone.
4 - check that the phone is using the correct gateway to connect.
5 - Test another sim.
6 - call your Service provider and ensure that there are no issues on the network.

If I left anything out my bad.
 
Error 619 - RESOLVED

Hi Guys

Vodacom Software on Huawei E220 Modem is commonly know as SH1TE, RUBBISH, JUNK and a few stonger words I can think of.

I wanted to replace the software on my E220 with Huawei software, which I use with my MTN E220 HSDPA card.

I managed to sort out my Vodacom HSDPA modem as follows:

Switched off the SIM PIN Requirement.
Ran "Switch Port" - To enbale access to the MODEM without allowing the OS to initialize the software when the modem is detected.
Copied the software on Modem to PC - BACKUP
Ran e220Update_11.117.10.02.00.B268.exe - UPGRADE to latest Firmware
Unplugged and Replugged modem
Ran UTPS11.002.03.16.03.B266.EXE to upgrade VODAPHONE Software on Modem to Huawei Dashboard
Ran Switch Port
Unplugged and Replugged modem
This upgrade did not work properly hence -
Ran UTPS11.002.03.16.03.B266.EXE to upgrade VODAPHONE Software on Modem to Huawei Dashboard - this time with "force" box checked
Ran Switch Port
Under OPTIONS on the "Mobile Partner" software I changed APN to "Static" and APN Name to "internet"
This resolved all my Error 619 errors.

error 691 ,remove the modem from device manager and then unistall the 3G software ,restart and reinstall the program and connect

I refuse point blank to uninstall and reinstall devices or software when something has worked for months (or years). If I get 619 errors, I keep re-trying, and always get connected eventually. Which pretty much confirms that the problem is not on my configuration, but a problem on the network.

What all the buggering about removing devices and reinstalling them achieves is that it buys time until the problem resolves itself. This is a great way to make the call centre's stats look good, and also ensures that the problems never get escalated to the engineers, and that in turn means that they will never, ever get sorted out. Couple that with call centre staff who refuse point blank to log a fault until you have practically reinstalled Windows, and you will continue to experience unreliable connections and frequent failures to connect.

619 could be network or system related.
