The Fallout 3 Thread

Hey can u turn down the Blood and gore on this game?
I read somewhere about a perk... and that u should not take it it will tone it down.

You mean the Bloody Mess perk? That's supposed to make it more gore-ish, but I never take it so I wouldn't be able to confirm whether Bethesda messed it up or not. Doubt it though, as that would be an absolute contradiction of what the perk's meant to do -.-'

I think I might just buy this game OMW there goes my budget for this month again. Maybe order it right now!!! :)

I just don't want that much blood and gore its cool to an extent but I like it toned down.

I wouldn't wanna tone the gore down!

After a while, the current amount starts to blend with the game and you don't even notice it anymore.

You can't tone down the blood and gore. Bethesda screwed up and forgot to include that option. In FO1 + FO 2 you have slider were you can adjust the blood and core level. I haven't seen anything like it in FO3.

Ok finished the game today. My final thoughts are that its a very good game and much better than oblivion but it isn't epic or close to the great rpg's I have played.

As far as exploration its quite open but in other aspects its rather closed. There isn't nearly as many options to solve individual quests as in the original fallouts.

The 3person animations is also a major let down.

Things the game got right is the characters. There are some very interesting ones in the game and none of those generics ones like oblivion had.

The character design and levelling was good for the most part.

Vats is another major plus point. I thought it was very well design and worked very well. I like the fact that while not going the turned based route entirely like Fo1+ Fo2 they also didn't turn it into a fps.

I have already touched on the fact that I disliked the censorship compared to the previous games.

The endings are terrible. What happened to the 200 different endings they promised us?? Did bethesda just think nobody will notice how generic and uninspired the endings were??

Overall I give it an 8/10

stefan9, I'm doing my absolute best to make it last as long as is humanly possible and have been avoiding as much of the main quest as possible like the plague. Is it safe to assume that when the main quest is completed the game's good and over? Or can you still play after?

Hey it's late. Go to bed :D
I have mostly been sticking to the main plot. My head is gonna explode from all the running....followed shortly by my eyes exploding from LCD burn! :p

lol :D I enjoy it :)

After about 35-odd hours of gameplay and side quests (estimated time courtesy of XFire) I decided to continue with the main quest just a bit until the Citadel. I love my new plasma rifle :D I want to continue the main quest, but I don't want to somehow magically finish it and not be able to continue on my.. er... Wasteland Exploration :D

the envy is still strong with this one master ...... :o (hopefully this month end it's mine)

:D I'll hold thumbs for you, Mephisto :D Or... er... whatever it is I'm supposed to do in hopes that you get it ^.^

ta bru .... hopefully that'll up my 'MH-gets-good-karma' count at month end :D

It ends. I won't say why since I don't want to spoil the game.

Awesome game ! whoever says this is oblivion with guns should be hit hard over the head !

Ahem, it's prolly the nest description I've heard for it. Played it for the first time last night. It's got 3 of my worst pet hates in games.
1. Click talk
2. The whole good vs evil karma thing
3. Skill points

However, somehow I am enjoying it. Will keep at it. :)
