The Fisker Thread

28k Fisker Pear coming to Europe

Family hatchback is due with a host of unique features in 2025; high performance variant due

Fisker has signed off the design and engineering of its crucial new entry-level EV, the Pear, as it ramps up towards putting the innovative six-seat hatchback into production on both sides of the Atlantic.

The Pear is the American company’s second model, following the Ocean SUV that was launched recently in the UK, and has been designed with a rigid focus on keeping costs as low as possible to preserve a targeted price of €32,900 (about £28,000) when it is launched in 2025.

At that price, the Pear would comfortably undercut not just similar-size crossovers, such as the Peugeot e-3008 and Nissan Ariya, but also popular contenders from the class below, like the Peugeot e-208 and Vauxhall Corsa Electric.

Nissan might save Fisker with a $400 million investment

Earlier today it emerged that Fisker's financials are in a dire state, with the company basically finding itself in a situation where it's hanging by a thread. The startup warned investors it may even go broke within a year.

And yet, it said it has a plan. One that involved new funds or a lifeline from another automaker. Now it seems like it's going to be both, for a new report from Reuters claims Nissan is in advanced talks with Fisker for a $400 million investment, which would undoubtedly save the upstart. The talks are so advanced that the deal could even close this month. The term sheet is ready and the agreement is currently going through the due diligence phase.

Aha TikTok. That’s why I didn’t see it lol

Thanks, it shows you how his review just imploded & sent the big wigs scrambling
Yea that's the only place I could find it. Showed up on FB for me though originally.

The scramble is justified. Makes you wonder whether or not they would be rushing to update customer vehicles if the video hadn't been made though.

OTA is the only way to handle EV updates, physically sending a tech is insane.
