I've owned 2 thus far. One was bought brand new and the other 2nd hand. My dad still drive his and he has had it for as long as I can remember.

I tried the part synthetic 10W40, on my Corsa, works like a charm. The thing used to drink like a fish on the recommended 20W50.

My mates had one from new. 2003 model and it’s never skipped a beat despite a lot of neglect in the servicing department. It’s on 200k now and seems to be going strong. Only thing that puts me off is the complete lack of any active or passive safety features so I’d go for a later high spec model.
