This article, that is proclaiming South African citizens' satisfaction with broadband services, is just sad. You don't search for a different provider for ADSL lines, because there isn't anyone. Or, dear writer of this article, did I miss some clearly valid logic somewhere?

You can prove anything with statistics, as long as you interprit it with a specific vision in mind.

I need a low latency, stable connection. So ADSL is the only option. I am sick and tired of all these wireless last mile options.

Only when users have a REAL choice in fixed line operators can any kind of survey like this make any sense. This survey should have been done only asking wireless users at least there is some choices. I for one will go back to MTN HSDPA

This will confuse the man on the street as there is not enough differentiation between ADSL infrastructure provider and service provider.

I see some antagonism regarding the reporting. These stats come directly from the broadband survey which you voted in: how should one report on these stats?

Telkom has the most loyal broadband subscribers with only 30% of ADSL users indicating that they are actively looking at changing their broadband provider.

With all due respect, this means nothing and constitutes gross abuse of statistics. Telkom is still the ONLY company offering fixed line broadband, such as ADSL. I'm not staying with them out of loyalty! I effing HATE Telkom, but they are my only choice!!
