You are wasting an awful lot of time responding here, which you should be spending on going to a pool shop to have your water tested and get the right products and advice to fix your water...

WHat paint did you use ? Roller, brush or airspray ?
Just paint or any other before stuff ?

Duram Armatex (was also opting for the Armaguard)
we got the wrong roller so I just went with a big brush and it was no hassle
(I did want to try my el-cheapo airless sprayer, but sadly it doesn't do textured paint)
just paint although I should have probably done something like a bonding liquid before,
as a few spots had bits crumbling off
the top panels weren't that bad tbh and only the bottom panel I actually took a scraper,
trying to get as much of the flakey bits off

sadly with the uneven face of the panels, sanding with paper was kak so tried not to bother

so now we do the waiting game and see how long it lasts :(

tbh, I am just happy the ugly green from before is gone

I'm investigating whether it's viable for me to install my own automated sprinkler system for grass and flower beds. I've never done it before so will need to do the required research. Has anyone done this? Any tips?
I have an irrigation system installed that is fed from a 2500L tank that gets filled from a borehole. The previous owner did this and then I've added a few more irrigation zones and converted the manual zones to automated zones I controll through sonoff devices.

Some tips / notes:
- try use HDPE black pipe rather than LDPE. I find it is more durable
- look at the hunter irrigation heads or even the rainbird ones. These just work and there's no fuss with them
- some, but not all my zones are automated using a sonoff 4CHpro (link to thread below)
- if you are drawing water from a rain tank you'll need a fairly strong pump if you have lots of irrigation heads per zone, the DAB 102 works very well for me

Hope this helps

Yeah, it’s really simple and all the stuff you need is generally available at builders or your general hardware store.

Start with a pen and paper and draw out a plan of your garden. Sprinklers are generally adjustable within their min and max radius, and you will need to know your flow rate which will determine how many sprinklers can be run off a single line. You can calculate flow rate from your water source by timing how long it takes to fill a bucket of water at full tilt, and then reduce by about 20% to account for flow friction in irrigation pipes, etc. Flow rate will help to calculate how many sprinklers (their mom/max flow rates are shown on the packaging) you can run on a single line.

In terms of the automation part: there are several methods, but the easiest is a programmable irrigation controller that is wired to irrigation solenoids (these vary from about R300 - R900 each depending on brand and quality) and you’ll need one [solenoid] per line (or zone).

Your controller is determined by the number of zones you need - the more zones, the more expensive. You get internet connected controllers that will adjust accordingly to weather conditions, for example not run on rainy days.

Finally, where possible, don’t use microjet sprinklers - they’re cheap but just don’t last long and constantly clog up. Spend the extra cash and get pop ups.

i fill my tank and then add alum powder

it has a small blueish filter thing connected to the tap so i pump the water through the filter into the pool

s-pdpxl.file
Is this to top up your pool? If so, that filter will be expended by the time you’ve topped up your pool 3 or 4 times. If this is to drink your borehole water, I’d definitely double check the water by a reputable lab - bacteria can easily pass through those filters. As I mentioned, these filters can be expended and then pretty much it’s a matter of **** in **** out.

These are sample profiles I got from HBS aluminium. But any decent installer should know about it.

Woah. So this just slots over the existing frame ? Will it be a solid connection. Wondering if they have one for wooden frames.

Don't think there is anything for wood. It's a put loose but tightens up when u put the rubber gaskets. Once it's right around the whole frame it's pretty solid.

TFC has some grout cleaner. Some steam cleaner or extraction vacuums may be able to do it as well.
