Caustic soda with cold water.
I always use boiling - speeds up the reaction. Have I been doing this wrong?

On drain cleaners, I can't stand the sulphuric acid based ones. They potentially can stain and damage things. Caustic soda has always been my go-to. Never fails.

Even more effective is blocking the pipe at the end and filling the pipe with caustic soda mix this will dissolve the fat at the top of the pipe.

Have you tried caustic soda? It's what I normally use - works very well. Put a liberal amount in the plughole, pour in boiling water and stand back.
Nope. Just chuck acid drain cleaner in the hole and leave the room. Once opened the tap just after pouring the drain cleaner - fck. Looked like a volcano erupting from the hole.

I do it the same way as you, works well. Im sure the instructions on the powafix brand say use boiling water.

Managed to leave out this section reasonably well after filling the space under the trampoline for a year with garden refuse…

Had ordered 2kg of full sun evergreen seed but my order has now been cancelled… Need to find a seed supplier stat to plant in the area. Anyone have place here I can get ?

Seed was going to cover this and overseed the remainder of the lawn after spike rolling(anyone in Midrand who can do me a solid). Price was just under R600 for the seed which I had thought was an incredible price. Had used the same seed a year ago and results were pretty good.

Also need to sell the trampoline now - i see them on marketplace for R4k odd - what’s a good price - it’s in good condition and working well…

I have seen YouTube videos where you can heat it with a blow torch to soften the glue and then you can pull it off the pipe. Obviously you need gloves and pliers to pull on the hot plastic. I have tried this and it's not easy to do, the point between softening the glue and the plastic collapsing happens quickly but maybe worth a try here? Cut through the broken angle piece so you can get to the 2 glued ends.

Otherwise you have to cut the angle out and replace with straight connectors into a new 90 with short pieces of pvc between.

Also look at supporting the next 90 that is horizontal to prevent the next one from cracking.

Is that in cement or is it just soil?

You'll probably have to cut it somewhere along the length where it makes the most sense and join it with a new section, possibly replacing more than just that one elbow.

If that section is in cement then that'll be a pain and you'll likely have to chisel out the surrounding cement to work on it.

I had to replace an elbow like that recently. You gonna have to cut the pipe and fit a new piece with an elbow and pvc cement. Lots of it. If you think you put on enough, put some more and then some. The last thing you want is to find after curing that it's leaking. Cause then you're going to have to cut out again.

Kak job.

I can only recommend Grasses & Greens, talk to Sharon. Check their Facebook page. Their seeds are legit and not the kak you buy off the shelves.

Anyone paint their exterior of the house lately? Its on my list for this year... fairly large house (and the previous company took shortcuts because I was overseas at the time, didn't clean walls properly, no undercoat, etc) :(
I bought quality paint and and employed my gardener for 2 1/2 weeks to get everything done including my roof. Total cost was approx half of getting a contractor. Just showed him how to do everything how I wanted it done and included washing and sanding areas where there was mould. It also felt good knowing I could help someone who has barely any income and teach him something

This was done 2 years ago and house still looks like it was painted yesterday. Good roof paint is expensive but provides some nice curb appeal

I used Sabre paints. They have various products depending on the quality you want and will deliver to your door.

A few ways, the easiest is going to be to cut the pipes back a bit and use straight joins on both sides, short peices of pipe and a new elbow.

What you can try first though is cut the elbow diagonally through the curve to separate the 2 pipes, then cut down both sides of the fitting, just deep enough that you essentially split the fitting into 2 halves (you will have to do this to both sides so 4 or more cuts, I would recommend at least quartering each peice of the fitting)

Then with a flat screw driver or pliers try to peel/break away the sections of fitting from the pipe. It will be messy and rough but it's fine you want to leave fragments and glue behind rather than damaging the pipe. Then some sanding to clean the pipe up and you can install a new fitting with no new pipe or other joins.

But it isn't easy it will have you swearing
