Has anyone here bought a simple illuminated mirror for the bathroom ?
I'm guessing they run on batteries, not power (as it's in the bathroom)?
They decent or gimmicky?
I love mine, its connected to mains power

Love the light it gives

bought it directly from Reflect mirrors in CT - they shipped to JHB no issues

Great service too

Installing Teracote resin floors over my downstairs open plan. Could not face the dust / mess etc of pulling out 80sqm of 300x300mm tiles. One week installation.

They're also going to do my kitchen walls which are tiled with this awful white tile.

Beginning March. Wish me luck

R695 ex vat
kinda similar ish I guess to 900x900 tiles with install / removal / materials
walls a bit cheaper

O_O - that is mad expensive bro, 80 x 695 ex = R64k

nein, 900x900 (odd size? 800 x 800 is i think the largest, 600 x 600 is more common) are starting at R159 sqm, add another R100p/sqm for adhesive etc and install and removal is like ~R100 sqm, a skip is like R600 to hire

(80 x 400) + R1200 = R32k and i over specced here at 199sqm for tiles, 100 for materials and 100 for remove and install plus 2 skip rentals

I particularly looked at large format tiles

I wanted as seamless a look as possible - but each to their own

Some of my tools have disappeared after a recent renovation. Thankfully they weren't particularly pricey. I ask the following questions with the appropriate amount of caution:
  1. Which 18v cordless drill would you recommend and why?
  2. Are laser levels worth purchasing? Which brand/model would you recommend?
Current use cases: I need to install wall-mounted drying racks as well as curtain rails and will be drilling into both tile and masonry. My house was built with mampara clay bricks which are challenging to drill into. I'll also be drilling into some pressed wood using hole saws.

I don't mind recommendations of lesser-known brands if you believe the quality to be good enough. It would also be awesome if this post does not devolve into brand fights.
1. Dewalt. Get extra batteries and definitely aim to get a minimum 6Ah batteries and charger. The batteries work across all the Dewalt range (ensure it the XR Max and you're gold)
2. Bosch Laser levels are the bomb! I have the GLL 3X which is great.

Solving a first world problem i never knew existed.. Sheesh..
Yep. Mine are never on unless someone switches them on accidentally. Really not worth the money (bought the house with them, certainly wouldn't install them myself).

I put them in as well with my renovation - digital timer - it works well in drying the towel for the next shower, especially in winter.

Shot man, Makro is running a promotion on a Dewalt cordless. I'll go check whether it includes the 6Ah batteries.

If you do your bathrooms - stay away from Tivoli - their 10 year warranty is a waste of time.

We spent a fortune on two in-wall cisterns, the one was leaking right after install, they said they fixed, but we recently discovered it still leaks, just under a month ago I called Italtile to get it fixed.

They sent someone out after a couple of days - who said he fixed it - but when I got home it was still leaking - I am now about to make my 4th call - each time I'm promised it will be resolved, and nothing - they make absolutely no effort, I usually give it a week, now I'm going to start calling daily.
