Need some advise plse. We have a long straight house with trusses running mainly top to bottom on the plans. The below plan snippet is 1 section that feeds out downwards from the "main" house and the trusses run left to right in that section. There are interior walls (dotted lines) that we want to remove. We were going to take the load bearing wall at the bottom and extend out, but we've decided against it so I colored it in red as it's now staying.

So, onto the issue. About midway down these 2 rooms is a beam running from left to right. But it's not a solid beam.. seems to be 2 beams connected with a piece of timber and yes you guessed it, it's resting on this wall I want to take out. Below are some pics:

What do you think our options are? Brace it on either side and remove the thin little plank that's "joining" it? It seems to be resting on other timber anyway if you look a the 1st pic.
