Don't know if it helps but these 2 cost us R15k all in, hard to see from the photos but the second one has glass of 1.75m x 2.1m:

Photos were taken during construction btw so don't mind the dirtiness

This is exceptional. Mind sharing the details of the fitter. Mines therefore sounding a little high, still appreciating that. Covid lockdowns did quite a number on materials, saw it live with a good 40-50% increase on a new roof.

But certainly seems worth getting a 2nd and 3rd quote now

If you have the space consider an open shower with sloped floor.

Yeah, outside of the prior experience with a smaller unit 1x1.5 this shower has two heads with one closer to where the opening would be. It’s mostly the splash effect that causes issues rather than water pooling

The guy did mention that if I’d gone for 2.1 height it’d cut the price quite a bit but that’ll look naf with the high ceilings

So the painting is done and you can hear the lawn growing if you stand still long enough.
Before and after:

I also had this cladding on the braai chimney that leaked water into the braai room when it rains. They removed it and sealed and painted it. Looks kinda toss but I never ever see that part of the house so long as it does not leak I will take it.

what is the thing on the grass?

So this is a f up of note: that new patio ceiling with IBR sheets that I did a few weeks ago.

First rains in Sandton (hail too) and came home to find my patio flooded. Leaking massively via the 'skylights'

Fok fok fok

Sorry to hear this. I am always worried about getting a skylight or any part of my room ceiling cut for this very reason.

Yea me too. I want to put a Whirley bird type extractor on the roof of my Hollywood garage. But just know its gonna fscking leak. It gets so hot under there you can just as well park the cars in the sun.

Think I am going to do the ceiling with insulation.

I don't think a whirly will be very effective there since it is so open already. Insulation will probably be the most effective. What colour is the roof?

How did you get out of the other car after parking it?

Roof is Grecian Grey

If I leave the garage door open during the day it hardly gets so hot underneath that's obviously because there's a draught going through. It feels like the hot air must be sucked out from underneath that roof that's why I was thinking a whirley.

You could try a reflective roof paint, that should also help a bit. Looking at this for when I have to paint my roof in future.

I repainted that roof earlier this year so it would have to stay that way for as long as possible. It is an IBR roof, dolphin grey but must have been a bad batch as the roof got so faded in 5 years that you could hardly tell the color. Used Dulux Roof Guard now. Also claims to lower temps but I donno.
