Exactly!

So maybe OP wasn’t home and they needed to get in and the neighbour has a plan to make arrangement.

Hence the requirement to actually talk to each other.

It was put up yesterday. I wasn't here but other people were and they didn't hear anything. He did inform me that he was getting quotes but ffs at least let us know when the work is being carried out.

So now I am curious, why did one of the inspectors that come look during and after install say it has to be on one side before e signs off?
 
Had the exact some happen to me when my new neighbour moved in about 10 years ago - fortunately I saw it happening and went over and got the installer to fix the "visible" sections, first he claimed it wasn't his problem, told him if its like that at the end of the week, I'll hammer the bolts straight back through as they're now on my side of the property.

I had an issue related to a shared wall and researched it. Looking at court cases etc. That is what I found. Can't vouch for the inspector.
 
Algea in pool, I have a problem I can't get to the bottom of..

Despite having perfect chemical levels, I still have algea actively growing on my pool walls.. green murkiness comes off when I scrub with the pool brush, so I know it's algea..

The glass media is about new, only a year old and toward the end of December I used a filter cleaning chemical to flush it out and supposedly clean it..

Not sure what else to do..

Our local water supply went for a ball of shiit a week back. I still had water dribbling into my tank up until thursday I think. Then the pipes were dry.

I have a 1000L tank muni feed connected with a pump to my house plumbing. I just made it with about 100L left in the tank when the supply started back up this morning.

I realized that:
  1. I need a bigger tank, 1000L is ok for a day or two, max three. I live alone so I don't use that much.
  2. It's amazing with how little water one can come by if you have to.
  3. A water crisis can start a war.
  4. When it comes to water it is every man for himself out there.
I was using the tank water only for washing myself, no washing of clothes or floors, etc. I even resorted to using the hand shower in the shower to wet myself, wash, and then rinse. It's not the same but at least you are clean.
I started using the water from the rainwater tank to flush the toilets with a bucket.

I get water first sort of, I am low-lying in town. I suspect some people will only start getting water tomorrow or even later.

Still very squishy underneath but the trampoline hole if filling with good rhizomes growing and finally meeting the other sides - should I be trimming the longer grass right down or to 10cm odd.

Grass burn due to my Neanderthal grass cutting.

Please commit me to an institution if I ever say again that I want grass seed from takealot. This is year 2 of new plant then overseeding after spike.

Cut it a third at a time every week, grass is spending all the energy on growing upwards instead of sideways.
 
Gentlemen, I present my latest predicament:

I need replacement steel window frame handles, like this:

Trouble is, all I can find, checked multiple hardware stores, are bolt through ones:

So I thought, I guess I could McGuyver my way through using the bolt through ones and a nut on the side of the window frame..

But, I can't get the bolt out of the window frame without removing the glass pane, there is just no room.. even cutting/drilling the bolt shaft, doesn't seem there would be room between the frame and the glass for the bolt head to fall out..

Cant seem to find the integrated bushing nut either, to just use those along with the bolts already in the window frame..

OTHER than removing the glass panes, anyone got any bright ideas..??

Wow, that is seriously old. I think that window will have to be removed, but will probably break.

Are they broken that you need to replace them? i.e you cant just take them off and clean them up?

Have you checked for building salvage places near you?
OR
I would just 3d print myself a replica in ABS (though i do wonder how strong it would be, but if the guy is at the window he is getting in if he wants to anyway)
OR
I would drill out those rivets and take the bracket off (or cut it off with an angle grinder) and then remove the bolt, tap the hole (weld it if needed etc) and rivet or weld it back
OR
I would cut the existing bolt flush and then center punch it and ever so carefully drill it out
For either of the last 2 take all precautions, i.e put something behind etc to avoid damage
I think all in all i would probably remove the bracket and rather just go back with the style you find on aluminium windows with a custom made bracket replacing the existing if even needed
