Weird euphemism but I will roll with it. It's caused by menopause and you could use some KY.

In seriousness though I would start by inspecting the key, does it look like it could be worn or broken in any small way? Do you perhaps have a spare or notice any difference between different keys for the same lock?

Yes WD40 isn't the best thing to use, you should just change the lock, hard to believe it hasn't been changed in 40 years.

Is the issue with putting the key in or turning the lock? What kind of lock?
If it's a union lever lock, I will fully believe it's not been changed in 40 years.. those things are absolute bullet proof locks.. that's also why you pay 500bucks for them..

Re-reading her post with this in mind…very funny.

Yeah fair, but usually locks generally more often get changed because of factors other than the lock failing eg. new people move in to the house, people lose keys or you don't want certain people to have access like a domestic being fired who could have copied a key etc etc

Go to local hardware store buy one and ask them to recommend a carpenter to fit it.

Assuming you own your spot? Otherwise let the LL sort it out

I finished my lawn renovations on Wednesday.
  1. Scarified the Kikuyu with my trusty Black & Decker scarifier toy.
  2. Aerated with spike roller.
  3. Overseeded with Barenbug Evergreen seeds
  4. Lawn dressing. Culterra this time round. Fsck that Garden Master bs.
  5. 2:3:2 fertilizer.
  6. Water.
Now we wait. Hopefully, it's not the same weed problem as last year.
Lawn took a massive hit this winter. Some before and after reno pics.

Did you water in the grass before starting?

We bought a new place, and it's standing empty. While we are waiting for the transfer, I wanted to do exactly what you've done, but was told the garden needs to be watered in before rolling etc.

Problem is, no one's there to do the watering, and I only have access to the property with the EA.

Where'd you pick up the seeds..? I need some that are winter shade tolerant and this looks like it would fit the bill..

Yes, I gave plenty of water before I began. I first scarrified and then gave water so the spike roller could penetrate.
Kikuyu loves to fscked up good and proper. If you don't have a scarifier you could use your mower on the lowest possible setting and fsck up the grass.

It bounces back like crazy.

I always buy from Grasses and Greens Supplies. Speak to Sharon.
She has a wealth of knowledge and can supply you with the correct seeds for your application. You can hit them up on WhatsApp.

Buying seeds from the nursery or builders etc is just madness wrt pricing.

Anyone know if I can find these cable clips in Cape Town somewhere?

Builders only have the round profile in black. I really would try to avoid having R13's worth of clips shipped all the way from Joburg

I tried to 3d print my own but even in PETG they're too brittle still.
If you printing this on the x1c, try to really slow down your printing speed. The x1c by default print too fast if strength, or rather, layer adhesion is what you need.
