yup just bought it, but if i sent back to them need cost me too much. so i don want to sent back to them.
 
I can't tell from your profile if you're from South Africa or not? I assume you've bought your unit online somewhere so yes, warranty/RMA is going to cost you shipping. Unavoidable. :(

i am from malaysia and bought a modem through internet.

I'm afraid if you've done a hard reset and still can't get into the router dashboard, there is nothing more you can do. You could try SSH but other members haven't been successful doing this.

I'm sure you're missing something really simple. PM me a photo of the back of your router?
 
Anyone know where I can get a B593 601 at a reasonable price in and around Pretoria?
Tired of Telskum and 0.8Mbps on a 4Mbps line.
 
Yip new as well. Now I need the antenna CROSS POLARISED LTE ANTENNA A-XPOL-0002 because I only get 2 bar on TM but awaiting my Afrihost LTE sim tomorrow - anxious to see the MTN LTE coverage??

What Azimuth says....but first try the internal antenna. I should've started with that! Might safe you some bucks buying an external antenna.
 
Yip been following the thread and the useful information and posts.
With internal antennas I get 2 bar on TM LTE. 21Mbps DL and 2.6Mbps UL -much happier than Adsl.

Very good price.... you were lucky.

I am considering selling my B593-601 as TM said they will take another six months to upgrade my network tower to 100Mbps.

I think a good price for my unit will be R2k + warranty as it has hardly been used due to my slow tower and I turn the unit off if not used.

So if anyone is interested let me know, otherwise I might just box it again and wait for six months.

In the meantime I get faster/smoother 3G speed on my Samsung Smartphone using Vodacom.

Sell it. In few months will be new model covering all SA bands.
 
I may be interested. Have a client that has bad 3G and I'm bargaining on good LTE.
 
Hi guys,

I looked for an informative forum about the Huawei B593, and found this long thread. very interesting, a lot of info. I have not yet found what i was looking for, but maybe i have used the search engine wrong. Hope you guys can help me. I would like to use the FTP function of the modem. I have plugged in a USB stick and after i was able to connect to the ftp via wifi. But I would like to connect to ftp from outside my netwerk. Thus via the 4G connection. I have tried to connect to my external IP adres, but that was without luck. Do you guys have any tips?

Btw I live in Norway, and use the modem from my provider (Netcom).

thanks for the quick reply. I understand using service like dyn would make my life easier, but I should be possible by connecting to my external IP address, right? Do i need to do port forwarding even though the ftp is on the modem itself.
