Which version B593 do you have?
 
Does the power switch on the side not work?
Sorry cant help, maybe get a sim swop done and see if the problem persists...

It does work. Its just annoying to have to keep on switching it on and off ever so often.

Had a SIM swap done about 2 months ago.:confused:

Which network are using? I do not have the Huawei LTE router but i am also experiencing the same issue where my modem's light is solid blue but there will be no internet access. This is on Telkom Mobile using a 3g router and a pluggable 3g modem. Might bring the ISP into potential culprits list if you are also on Telkom like me

I am on Telkom Mobile too!

Are you still using the black 8ta SIM cards?

Yes i have the old black one. Ok so we might be sharing a problem here. Usually when it happens i just unplug & re-plug the modem from the router and the connection gets sorted

Edit: its been bugging me to the extent that i reflashed my firmware trying to resolve it

I have done a SIM swap to the new blue SIMs and the problem stopped for like a month. But it seems to have resurfaced now.

Now i'm not sure how this can be sorted. Wonder if anyone else on TM shares the same experience
 
Although this is not strictly on-topic I can share my relevant experiences. I had the Black 8ta Sim and it started giving me erratic connection to the network. I then went to TM and they said it is the sim and did a sim swap to the new blue sim. It seemed to be ok initially but started getting erratic and then the Sim just "died". No connection at all. I went back again and they did another Sim swap - this time to the Blue Telkom Sim and I have not had an issue since. It has now been about 8 months on the blue sim without a hitch.

The s-601 has different firmware (v200-something) which was greatly "simplified" and in the process, lost some functionality.
Hopefully you were able to figure out the equivalent steps in the u-12 firmware.

I can now report that it was the SIMcard that was not LTE enabled. I get decent speed even with 2 bars signal on the internal antennae. http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3870809319. Connecting from Bloemfontein to Jhb. Now to get an external antenna! By the way, mine did not come with the two sticks, no great loss, it seems.

Well I have been using the B593 for just over a week now. I have it set up with wifi disabled and it is just used to provide internet access into my Mikrotik router and it has been very stable. The signal is good and the internet connection has never been this fast or stable.

I have been a user of the B593 since the 8ta LTE trials and I reckon this is one of the best and most successful internet devices out there.

I'm also happy to report that it's also one of the best port forwarding devices I've come across.
 
Hi All,

I'd like to take the plunge into the LTE world. Ideally I want to get Neotel's uncapped LTE (24 month contract) and if things dont work out with Neotel (or if better deals come along) I want to be in a position to move to a different provider. From the 1st page of this thread it seems that HUAWEI B593s-22 router will be the best way to go in terms of future proofing. Is that correct?
 
No no, that'll lock you into MTN and Vodacom. You want the B593s-601.
 
Hi guys quick question:

I got a B593u-91 with the Telkom trial and in the last year I have been using my Afrihost (MTN) sim in it and it works okay. I get 3G even though the SIM is LTE enabled but I am not too stressed about the speeds staying on 6-12Mbps. The thing is though that on some nights when the weather is wet the signal gets a lot weaker. I cannot move the router around too much, since I use the ethernet ports in the back.

The thing is I did not get little external antennas in the box and the old wifi ones I have lying around doesn't fit. I saw a couple of TP-Link TL-ANT2408C (http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?model=TL-ANT2408C#over) at a local shop for a fair price and the connectors look the right size. But will they work? Will they boost my signal? And do I need to buy 2 or will one on one of the connectors suffice? If so which connector? I am sorry if this question has been answered before but this thread is long and I search through it and could not find a near enough answer.
