I hope I am posting this question in the correct Thread since it relates to the B593 and you guys here seem to know a lot about this LTE device.
When port forwarding on the B593 if you want to forward UDP port 10000-20000. you can fill in the remote port range 10000-20000 but on the local port you have to input the exact UDP port and not a range.
what happens if an application open up multiple RTP streams like when using SIP , you get one-way audio if the RTP ports are not open.
Any ideas or advice on how to open a range of UDP ports on the Huawei B593

Local host.. Is that the specific ip that you want opened or is it the router gateway?

I needed to forward to an IP PBX thats behind the B593 to enable a remote extension, the sip trunk registers but obviously I have Audio issues because I cannot get the correct UDP ports opened.
Absolutely usable, yes. The B593 has 4 "Fast Ethernet" (100Mbps) wired LAN ports, and plugging devices (such as PCs, DVRs, or whatever) into those ports effectively connects them to each other. It also connects them to any wireless devices (eg laptops or cellphones) that are connected to the B593's Wi-Fi access point (if it is enabled). All of the connected devices (wired or wireless connections) then have the ability to communicate with each other, with the B593's internet connection, and with the B593 itself (for configuration).Basically what I'm asking is, is the LAN port usable? or is it only there for connecting to a PC to configure the Router?
Almost certainly, yes.Am I able to plug the LAN cable into my DVR so that I can view my CCTV footage remotely from my cellphone? My DVR requires a LAN connection to enable this capability.

The limit for RSRP (we are talking LTE in particular here) is around -120dBm. A signal strength of -104dBm RSRP isn't great and is a sure candidate for LPDA-0092 big guns.
I think it depends on the format of the "LAN internet connection" you mention.
If you're going to get a WiFi-less router device from Level 7 (that routes between their WAN on one side, and local LAN port(s) on the other side, then this should be possible, I would think. You would just turn off (ie set to "Disconnect") the LTE modem on the B593 and plug the LAN cable from the Level 7 router into one of the B593's LAN ports. You would then be using the B593 as a plain switch plus WAP, with all four B593 LAN ports and the WAP clients on the same logical network segment. You would just need to make sure that all LAN ports have IP addresses that are on the same subnet, and you would need to identify the LAN port on the Level 7 device as the gateway for external routing. That would effectively make the Level 7 internet gateway available to all B593 LAN and WLAN clients.
Is that what you mean, or am I missing something ?

You would just need to handle the issue of allocating IP addresses to devices (wired or wireless) that connect to the B593. This is probably best done by the B593 itself using its DHCP service.
If there is a suitable app available for your cellphone, you would probably be able to view footage on (and possibly also control) the DVR device, from within your local network. That kind of access shouldn't generate any traffic over the internet, unless there is a third-party internet server involved somewhere.
If you wanted to go one step further and configure things so that you can access your DVR over the internet (eg to view footage remotely), then you would also need to read up on "port-forwarding" and configure the B593 appropriately to pass DVR requests from the internet through to your DVR device.

That's about right for 3 bars. I've seen as low as 2Mbps and as high as 28Mbps on 3 bars. What is your signal quality like? (RSRQ)
Not a great result, we agree, but ... soooooooo many possible reasons!
Let's start with:
- Is this a B593s-601 (or another model) on Telkom Mobile ?
- Is the router operating in 4G mode (blue mode light), 3G mode (green mode light) or (worse!) another mode/colour ?
- Are you connecting to the unit by Wi-Fi or wired ethernet ? (best to use a cable for testing, at least initially)
- What are your antenna arrangements ? Are you using the built-in antennas, the flat whips supplied with the unit, indoor external antenna(s), or outdoor external antenna(s) ? If externals, which ones ?
- What are your detailed signal stats (RSSi / RSRP / RSRQ ) ?
- Do you know the approximate locations of your nearest base stations, and how far they are from you ?
