The Huawei B593 LTE discussion thread

Hi there everyone,
I am using my B593s-22 with firmware version V200R001B236D30SP00C00 (in Italy).
The router is connected to an external directional antenna, forced in 4G mode.
Sometimes the modem will not gain speeds over 7MBs so it requires reboot to turn ordinary speed (45Mbs). Today the "Mode" LED turned red and required a reboot.
I wonder if all this may be due to the ISP, to the directional antenna, the forced 4G mode or to the older firmware...

Are you aware of a newer firmware than mine? (apparently there's a version named Giamaica- General V200R001B270D10SP00C00) but I wonder if this is suitable for Italy.

Another thought: is there a way to reboot the modem from a command line (Windows) script?

Any help appreciated!

Yeah, but this should be automated somehow. Any option to do this through SSH/Telnet?

My Router is set to LTE only I have 3 bars but it stays flashing between white for abit then goes red again any tips ?? what must I do from here ?

Hi All!

We have a B593s-601. Does anyone have a method to force the 2300MHz band? I used to have high uploads speeds and I am now stuck below 3mb/s.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Hey guys does anyone know how to setup VOIP feature on Huawei B593-601?

Thanks in advance guys

does anyone have a video or know of a video on youtube where some person goes through their HUAWEI 4G LTE Router showing all the settings and everything.

Hi everyone, can anyone give me some advice on the b593 modem please?

Can get one for R650. Is that too much?

Need to use it with a mtn sim. Will this work?

Currently using a phone as modem and connecting via usb to asus dsl-n14u router. Keeps loosing connection every now and then and is annoying especially while streaming.

Is this a good buy for the money as b315 I know is around R1500 but is apparently better than b593?

Thank you.

For R650 it is worth. Get exact model number and verify frequecies on the first page. B593s-601 is the most current and popular and will work with MTN.

When we first got our router we had zero LTE signal in the house, so we installed the external antennas and got them pointing more or less in the right direction and got a reasonable signal.

Yesterday I needed to take the router to work, so while it was on I disconnected the external antenna - and was a bit nonplussed to see that the signal strength (Both in terms of signal and actual speedtests) didn't drop at all, even with the antenna disconnected. So i tested and found that as long as the external antenna cable is running into the room where the router is, it makes little to no difference whether the router is actually connected to the antenna or not. If I remove the antenna from the room the signal drops to nothing as expected.

Is this normal? It's like the antenna is routing the LTE signal into the house where the router picks it up using the built in receivers, even if the antenna isn't actually connected.

That is not normal at all. I am like 500m from the tower but once I remove the external antenna plugs from my router without setting the router to use build in antenna the signal disappears and I get the red led showing no signal or connection.

Is your router set to use external antenna correctly?

The external antenna makes a HUGE difference so if you plug it in and out and don't see a signal difference then something is wrong.

It happens. The pole has no earth connection (most frequent) or cable shield contact is poor. Test continuity.

Thank you.

That said if I were you I will try and at least get the B315 and here is why.

Easy band selection if you ever decide to use Telkom. Some areas on with MTN have 2100Mhz 3G and 900Mhz if for whatever reason you wanted to switch you won't be able to do it with the B593

The B315 from Telkom also supports ALL LTE in SA and comes with a battery pack is black in colour and is unbranded.

Retails for about R1300 brand new with 12 months warranty.

Brilliant! got the b315 today for R800. Works well other than auto switching on dstv. Stays on the lower quality most of the time. Getting around 10mbps over wifi on android box.

They guy I bought it from also had a xpol 0006. Wasnt sure if I should take it as Ive heard its more suited for telkom frequency but will work on mtn.

Still cheap and can get it for less than R500. Any advice?

My wife just upgraded her telkom contract so she's got an extra B593s-601 to sell, she wants R500 for it, please inbox me if you want it

I also have a B593 Router available for purchase - original box and accessories all available. PM me if interested.

Still no way to force 2300MHz on the B593s-601? Why doesn't Telkom release a firmware upgrade for their B593's too?

Anyone know the SSH password to get into these puppies?
