I get the annoying bug of not being able to end the call every now and then.

Thats still OK, i get the annoying bug of not being to answer now and then. Slider just refuses to slide. Sometimes helps to press the power button (silent) and then try to answer. maybe you can try the same. Or move your finger in front of the IR to switch screen on and off... maybe it will work then.

Why is it that I never get these issues?

I mean I have almost every possible app loaded, from Winterboard to SBSettings you name it and I never get this issue..

Yeah switching the screen off and on via the proximity sensor does the trick... Still annoying as **** though..

Updated the SO's 2G last night to 2.2. Everything went well. I just wish Apple would find some way to restore your icons to the same location again.

They have, it's called backup and restore, you can do it from iTunes, only for app store apps

On 2.2 and still get it!
I used to get this from time to time, double tap the home key, forces the phone to react by either jumping to favorite contacts or activating iPod controls, from there you should be able to jump back to the incoming call

Personally I think that is more of a network issue than a phone bug, I'm sure you would have had this on your previous phone/phones from time to time?

Yes I did... Did it yesterday and I have been getting even more constant disconnects. I think it was probably Vodacom's fault cos I arrived in Durban today and I have had excellent reception 3G and 2G since this morning.

How many hours or should i say minutes do you get with PdaNet?

strange, i've never had a disconnect when on 3g via pdaNet

with hours/minutes, do you mean connection time or battery life?

connection's without fault, battery life is auwfull, i've mad a habit of connecting the usb when using pdaNet

I think the mix of Cydia installed apps might be part of the problem.

hmmm....

well, with regards to the cydia thing, i've noticed that when you do a restore firmware, then jailbreak, then restore from backup, some of the files that relate to cydia apps are returned to the phone, not sure to what extent though, so i'm in the habit of uninstalling everything cydia before i fiddle with firmware/restores.. .there is a cydia app that backs up your cydia apps, not sure if it does your springboard as well.... a little reminder from the other memebers as to what the app is maybe???

The app to backup your cydia stuff is called apt-backup. It basically makes a list of your cydia apps, which it then downloads after the restore.

BTW, if you are jailbroken, and using iTunes to upgrade the firmware, you MUST restore rather than upgrade. Simply upgrading will rob you of about 500MB worth of storage, which you will not be able to get back untill you restore.

I'm in the process of trying to find out the codes for local Network Providers.. Will get back to you guys..

hi fxit, any news on this? just bought iReal sms, great app, but would really like to get the delivery reports to work (

unfortunately vodacom3g hasn't got back to me yet..
I have kindly asked him on numerous occasions for an update but he fails to provide one

hmmm.... it could very well be that vodacom does not support this, aparantly it only works on the older smsc's, vodacom's network kind of kicked off with slightly newer technology....

Hi Fxit

how about info on creating a US iTunes store account on the first post?

1. purchase a voucher from http://www.globalitunes.com
2. open itunes, and sign out any iTunes store accounts
3. click on itunes store, and select to browse the US iTunes store at the very bottom
4. at the top right, click redeem
5. enter your voucher details and choose to register a new account
6. obtain USA adress details from http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/ for your adress and telephone details
7. the newly registered account now has full access to the USA iTunes store
