If that was the case then regular headphones wouldn't work either, maybe you just got a dud cable?

Thanks for a great response and useful info guys. My headset works fine as does the iPod connector for my vehicle. I have tried several aux cables with no success, hence my post and assumption that Apple have customized their mini jack 4 connector audio output.

Been a while, but here goes. My iPhone is fine on 3.1.2 put my wife's is on the older version 3.1.0 (I think) she is bugging me because she wants MMS. What route do I follow?

As far as I recall MMS was added in 3.1 - maybe she is on 3.0.1, check in Settings, General, About. What model iPhone is it, from SA, need unlock or not? Check the iClarified Tutorials for most what you need to do. If you get stuck, pretty sure we can help out here.

LOL, Murphy's Law. I get wife's phone sorted with 3.1.2 and sending and receiving MMS and then MMS stops working on mine :)

But if you have the latest firmware it works out the box on vodacom, why would it stop working?

failed on sending MMS, tried a different photo and it worked again. So both phones on 3.1.2 and both working with MMS :) Wife is happy, I am happy (as she is not bugging me to "upgrade" her phone to one that works with MMS)

Also the trick with VODACOM, you have to send a MMS 1st before your phone starts receiving them??? Very strange!!!

I use a regular stereo minijack to rca aux cable that i got from zakspeed without any problems.
Also used stereo minijack-minjack standard cables with no problems on iPhone 3GS + 3G

This looks promising. Now we just have to wait until the 3rd or April, maybe a bit earlier, for the new Jailbreak software to be released. I can't wait to use some nice Themes and Wallpapers on my iPhone.

Me again needing some info regarding Jailbreak.

My iPhone 3GS is a MC Model with Baseband 05.12.01 but I'm using MTN sim card. So that means that it is unlocked. Am I right? Does this also mean that I can do the Untethered Jailbreak?

Yes

We will see when this Untethered Jailbreak is actually revealed.

I've doing lots of research but still don't have a answer.

I got a iPhone 3GS with following specs

White 16GB

V3.1.3 (7E18)
MC132SO
Old bootrom
Serial: 88937######
05.12.01
Unlocked

I still don't know if I'm able to jailbreak or not.

Any help will be really appreciated.
