Cool. Thanks for that. I will ignore the OMFG this time. You probably didn't struggle to get all the answers when you first got your iPhone?!?

According to f0recast I'm on bootloader 6.4
Can only Jailbreak if I have a SHSH saved (Which I dont)
Unlockable? NO (I'm using MTN)
Tethered? NO (So this means I can do a Untethered Jailbreak when the new one is available?)

I have purchased myself a nice new PC. I was and still am running Windows 7. How do I move over Itunes, together with all my iphone settings, apps and music to the new pc?

Any nudges in the right direction will be much appreciated. ;)
 
For anyone who wants better battery life... I have to say nothing beats turning down brightness all the way down, if you're outdoors in sunlight mostly it wont be helpful though.

Look at these stats(iphone3g) and I still have a full green bar with 3G enabled :D
Time since last full charge-
Usage: 1hour,42minutes
Standby: 1day,16hours.

If you have a Jailbroken iPhone you can check out the Cydia/Rock app called ScreenDimmer it can help by dimming the display when the iPhone is idle after a certain amount of time. Looks like this Goehot guy likes all the attention. Why doesn't he just release the new Jailbreak already???

I see on his blog there are people praying to him, calling him a god and all that. Can you believe it????

I'll rather loose my iPhone than calling him a god just to have it jailbreaked.
 
Why hello folks... Long time ;)

Just checking in to see if anyone's gone iPad ape $h!t yet? Must say, I'm majorly impressed with the device, yes, it's little more than a big iPod touch, but you'll be amazed what the effect is of making the iPod touch big enough to use in stead of a laptop.... I'm loving it :)

Only have the 16 gig for now, I knew I wouldn't be able to wait for the 3G to buy one, but this one's going to a very lucky nephew in SA once the 3G releases ;)

Sorry for the quiet of late the mobile industry in the states has been keeping me rather busy, and will probably continue to do so for at least another few months if I survive it all

Fxit, glad to see this is still going strong, nice one!

Long time no see... I really like the iPad (dont have one)... if they Jailbreak it, I might consider though
 
Roland you lucky bastard. I don't think we'll be seeing ipads here until may/june unfortunately.
So don't mention the war :-)
 
Oh i'll just merrily enjoy mine... Sending 4 home next moth for family gifts :) eagerly awaiting the 3G though, but loving the wifi for now... Ps, I thought iGear was going to sell them to you SA folks from next week?
 
nothing on the igear site that i can see, wantitall had some but they've been removed.
guess we'll just wait, za style.

see musclenerd has a jailbreak already?
 
Yup, unpublished though, they still wrapping it up into a package that includes a cydia installer and all that jazz... Lots to do though, apparently the repository pages don't mesh well with the larger screen.... Lol

Just checked my archived mail, igear sent a mail out saying they'll have the iPad April 07, but that looks like it could just be a jpg copied from the European apple store actually, they may have totally not meant it... Lol

Oh why not, it's funny when stupid people copy and paste jpg images which leads to all the geeks (sorry) in one country holding their breath in vain ;)

Only having a bit of fun guys, but seriously, if you've been considering iPad, go for it, I'm loving this one and can't wait for the 3G to release, don't even see the need to jailbreak it to be honest

Seems like a really great device (I know you will always get ppl who say otherwise, they need not buy one is all I say to them). I know of a few people (not personally but via Twitter) who have their iPads over here, they either got someone to bring it back or went over themselves for it. I am hoping to try and get one via a buddy who is over in USA on business late April. Time will tell if I can get that one right.
 
Anyone know of any other apps beside ''WhatsAppMessenger'' for iphone ->blackberry / blackberry->iphone instant messaging..?

''WhatsAppMessenger'' works BUT, ''WhatsAppMessenger'' is not available for BB in SA coz its a pay app..

So please, if anyone knows of any other app that works for a NON-JB iphone and BB, please let me know!
