I just think most people here (including myself) don't have much "new" experience with unlocking and basebands etc. I don't want to misinform you and then you go and stuff up your phone... The only software unlocked iPhone I had was the first 2G iPhone that wasn't released here in South Africa, so after that I was out of the unlocking scene as I had factory unlocked devices from there on!

Glad to hear you sorted it out in the end though. Perhaps mention how you sorted it so others with the same problem can also benefit

On the contrary, do any of you guys know why i cant seem to transfer music/photos via Bluetooth to another phone??
it allows me to pair the device but then says "Not Connected" and doesnt do anything

Yeah unfortunately Apple doesn't allow this due to whatever reason (trying to promote iTunes purchasing I guess).

What you can do is download Apps from the AppStore to send pics. Music is not so easy. There was an app called iBluenova which could do this in the past, but it hasnt been updated for the latest firmwares for a while now..

Hi,

Iphone 3G. Jailbroken.

1. The " Silent" button, the silver one has somehow broken off in my pocket, where can i get this replaced in JHB?
2. As of 20 minutes ago, I have the strangest artefacts on my screen, top left, looks like a print out of a heart monitor, in light blue pixels running across my screen. Ie - a **** ton of dead pixels in peaks and troughs. Will try a reset tonight....otherwise?

No camera flash issue here that I have experienced. It has the flash diffuser that most of the other white backplates available don't come with.

i then selected "USER"
Now what do i need to do?

any recommendations on what i need for my phone and what steps to take from here to make the most of my phone?

i get some message about ICDE and Apple wara-wara, do i accept the "Yes, makes my life easier" thing??

any help will be appreciated

First, yes, accept the "make my life easier" thing... Cydia backs up your SHSH blobs which you might just need with future jaibreaks if you have to downgrade your software.

Then, it all depends... There are a couple of cool Cydia apps like Winterboard, Cycorder, Backgrounder, Netatalk, iFile etc which you might want to have a look at.

If you are going to be loading cracked apps on your phone you'll need to install AppSync and Installous... To do that you'll need to click on the "Manage" tab in Cydia, then click on "Sources"... Click "Edit" and add the URL http://cydia.hackulo.us
When the source is installed search for AppSync and Installous and install them.

AppSync allows you to install cracked apps on your phone while Installous is kinda like the iTunes store for those apps.
