hi guys well i dont know what i just did 2 my phone but i was updating sum apps in installer then when i went exited it hanged 4 abt 5min with the rotating wheel so i restarted the phone and now its stuck at the apple screen on start up!! what do i do? If i have 2 restore is there any way i can back up everything? I really dont wanna lose all my apps and contacts etc...pls help

Hold the power/wake and home buttons down for more than 25 secs, then restore it with iTunes and choose to backup your data..

Should work. Cant guarantee the backup of your data though, but iTunes should prompt you to backup your data if i recall correctly.
 
have you tried syncing with itunes?
restoring will cause you to lose your apps but you should be able to sync your contacts in itunes (you can sync to outlook or windows adressbook i think...)
in fact, i think itunes asks you if you want to back-up your data before restoring.
before you restore, try doing a hard-reset.
 
@shivz - as a matter of interest, what apps did you update? I see on appleiphoneschool they refer to certain apps giving them similar probs. Perhaps check that out?
 
hey guys well i managed to sort it out...i just reinstalled ver 1.1.4 with winpwn luckily i had 1.1.4 saved on pc so didnt have 2 download it agn and presto it started up everything still there all apps and contacts jus my sms's 4 sum reason was gone and it was showing all my old messages frm abt a mnth back...think it has sthing 2 do with the fact that, that was the last time i synced with itunes actual ok just checking now ive lost sum contacts the 1s ive added ova the past mnth so i guess it added a backup of my old sync but ive downloaded abt 10/15 new apps since then and they r all there....weird
 
o and im not sure which apps i updated it was shown i had abt 25 to update(ive been neglectn my phone cos i was studyn 4 exams) so i just clicked update all(which i never ever do!) and after it updated and i exited installer it crashed!
 
o and the reason i had 2 take that route was bcos it wasnt syncing with itunes it frooze at the apple sign then half way thru a backup it 'restarts' and goes back 2 the apple screen so it would start backup all ova again which wasnt getting me newhere and i knew if i did a restore it would wipe out evthing so i just tried sumthing diff cos it couldnt hurt since id have 2 restore if it didnt work...
 
:-) ok 1 more thing and i know this is the iphone thread but a friend of mine has an itouch and from what ive read and seen in installer(apps for itouch) its possible 2 get installer on it right?? so i used ziphone cos it had an option activate and jailbreak and in brackets it said adds installer to phone but it also said works with itouch...so i did it but when the touch restarted, nothing!is there anyway to get installer on the itouch....thanx
 
yeah thats prob yit happened...ive also been installing ALOT of roms lately could that be the prob?

Hi all,

Just to get back to this app - up until a few days ago it didn't work with Jiggy, but it does now, and it is great! You can view the mms right there, delete etc, but a nice new feature - you can save the photo ! Yeah!. So this one is really cool. Much better than going to Finder and not being able to do much with it.
 
This is slightly off-topic, but still relates to iPhone.

Album artwork in iTunes - what do you guys do or use to get artwork? I have too many songs to manually add them, (have tried it though - very longwinded) so I bought an app called iArtwork. The demo worked fine, added the 5 or whatever covers. Once I bought my license, it bombed out. Now it wont see any albums, only the songs, so not much use. Have contacted them, but no reply!! Big surprise. Any ideas? Dont want to buy another app.

You could have gotten a free iTunes account if you searched the forum a while back but those days are over now, Apple does not allow this anymore.

It might still work, test it and report back...

Cool....refreshing sources as I write this!

Love it! Took some time to figure the save and delete options, but once I got my left and rights sorted out I was very impressed.

Thx, I get all the way to where I have to add my address.... what do I put there? Std is US and SA is obviously not there. I cant leave it blank....

Yes, you have to add a fake or real US address, I have a real one(mailing) so I added mine.
 
Ok, did that, but if I choose 'none' for payment, it keeps reloading the page saying Providing a method of payment will allow you to continue making pruchases after your credit has been used.

Any ideas?

Just continue, you wont be charged for anything.
 
It reloads that page everytime I click continue? Or should I put my paypal account?
