There is an app in AppStore, called Units, depending on whaf you want to convert. Not sure if its free.
 
So 2.1 for the iPod touch is available. Is it the same as the iPhone???

Edit - it says for the iPod touch only. And they charge $9.95 for it!!!

You can't load the iPod firmware on the iPhone. If you have visited zibri's site recently you will have noticed that there is now a way to download the iPod updates for free ;)
 
OK gents...

As we all know the 2.1 software for the Iphone is out. Ready for download. Its a nice 231MB for the 2G version.

If you have pwnage your phone with software version 2.0.2 then you can go ahead and upgrade not restore your phone to the latest software.

I have just done it and its working perfect. I am busy doing some testing on the apps side and backups and battery life and will keep you guys posted.

Everything feels faster, the sms typing is quicker so far and I found out that if you now three times click on your headphones it goes to the previous song.

Super I am liking 2.1 oh yes the Edge icon has also changed.

No problem mate... all to keep the guys excited and to get them to upgrade and be part of the whole iphone cult.

Update:
All my apps work perfect...
SMS and typing is quicker and lag is gone.
3x clicks on the headphone button takes you back a song.
Also now there is a 24hour clock under settings
Also automatic time update works for SA (mine did not work for some reason)
Apps installed facebook and units install much quicker on the phone itself
Podcast now show you how far you have listened

I will keep on updating

Some more info on the 2.1 update:

Apple has released the iPhone 2.1 firmware which contains many bug fixes and improvements.

* Dramatically reduced time to backup to iTunes
* Improved email reliability, notably fetching email from POP and Exchange accounts

Busy downloading iPhone 2.1 software now.... Pretty excited... ;)

Just remember you will lose your jailbroken apps and jailbroken state.. i.e. no SSH, Cydia, Installer.. until the new pwnage is released..

you probably know this already, but i'm just reminding you in case.. ;)

Yip you 100% correct... A pwned 2G phone will work - no activation needed. But jailbreak will be lost etc...

No point updating... I consider my iPhone useless without Jailbreak and all my other apps... Guess i'll just have to wait for DT to release new Pwnage.

Anyway - its late and i need sleep!! btw my iPhone drank a whole tot of tequila tonight and its still going strong ;) ;)

So if I have 2.0.1 then I should first do an upgrade to 2.0.2.? And do I understand you correctly that the phone will still be jailbroken and unlocked?

There is currently a Jailbreak for everything up to 2.0.2. If you have a 1st gen phone that has already been pwned you can upgrade to 2.1, but you will loose your jailbreak and thus the community apps. Once the dev team's releases a new jailbreak you should be able to just to a quickpwn your 2.1, but yes it is best to wait!
