hi guys i got a problem i dont have any data connestion, my 3 g is turned on and my apn says internet, its the second time i have this problem and the last time i just fiddled around and fixed it, i was at incredible connection today the apn settings on there iphone was iphone.vodacom.za. someone please help it sucks not having data connection

That means that your PC is using PPPOE, you router is not connected to the internet just allowing devices to use the ADSL line. You need to enter your telkom account settings there and connect the router.

Ya i'm using route sentry, but even if I turn route sentry off then it still doesn't connect...

Are you still using the turbosim unlock solution? if so then I assume it has something to do with this, AFAIK the turbosim unlock is not fully stable.

You don't have to change any setting on your PC, just create a new connection on the router:

Advanced> WAN > new connection.

Name: Give the connection a name like "iPhone internet"
Username and Password: enter your adsl account settings

Sharing: enable
PVC: 8:35

Apply then click connect.

Not true, I've tried this but it does not work.

You can test it yourself...
Remove turbosim and insert vodacom sim, do a restore to 2.1 using itunes when iPhone reboots itunes will detect your sim and give you instructions.

Catch?
A US model iPhone can only be activated by AT&T using an AT&T sim.
 
okay, so there is no way to do it i am actually quite peaved because if the turbosim method is dodgy i am sitting with an iphone that doesnt work properly so i ripped myself off by buying from igear

Hi

Turbo sims trick the phone to think it is roaming. Turn on data roaming see what happens.
 
@adamr - that depends on what you like.... :)

one of my fav's is still shazam - you use is to listen to music that is playing, ie radio, and it identifies songs, artist, album etc, with links to sample in iTunes.
Remote - use iPhone as remote for your iTunes library
Simplify - access your iTunes library on your iPhone

I agree, it's pretty accurate I'm always impressed with how it's able to tag music I feed it. Awesome App and its free:)
 
@dobee - I continually amaze friends with it. Tried it with the intro bars of some Pink Floyd song the other day, song barely started, they were hughly impressed!
