Ok Jailbreak here I come. :D
1) Do you have to be outside for the GPS?
2) When using the jailbreak SMS - Bitesms does it use your sms bundle or not?
3) Where to get Cydia?

Ok,

MMS help please.

I used Jailbreak and I dwnloaded SwirlyMMS, setup the MMS APN and setting using these settings.

Vodacom

WAP/GPRS:
APN: internet
Username: leave blank
Password: leave blank
Email smtp: smtp.vodacom.co.za

MMS:
MMSC: mmsc.vodacom4me.co.za
Proxy: 196.006.128.013:8080
APN: mms.vodacom.net
Username: leave blank
Password: leave blank

I manged to send an MMS, and when i got a test MMS sent to me, it notified me that I had an MMS.

HOWEVER: I click on the message in SwirlyMMS inbox and it says downloading from vodacom4me.co.za. the screen then goes Blank and the the message re-appears but without the image.

I suspect that its trying to open the picture with an application and failing??? I dont realy know, just guessing.

Any help here would be most appreciated. I just want the MMS functionality its driving me mad that I dont have it! ^^

Thanks

Little Fish

Good news!! Version 0.3.6 of SwirlyMMS makes it compatible with firmware 1.1.3 and above! Also, since my last review of this app…there has been one very cool new feature added…the ability to receive Multi-Media texts!! Which is totally cool however, in order to view the MMS you have to, “use a viewer, like MobilePreview and a file browser, e.g. MobileFinder and browse to the folder where the received images are stored: ~/Media/MMSFiles.”! Other than that…the app functions pretty much the same as previous versions. The only thing this it is still missing is the ability to send videos and music via text. Doug and I have tried to get this app to work without much success but, we are pretty sure that is because we do not have multi-media messaging turned on for our account. Let us know in the comments how this app works for you! SwirlyMMS is available through the Ste Packaging source.

Note: You can get all the info on how to install/set-up this app on the Developer’s website.
