Just picked up my new iPhone, now I can send my current one off for repair. Even though I have grown attached to my cracked screen :D

Maybe in the USA, but definitely not in South Africa.

We're at the bottom of the supplier's list. :(

The new mac products are landing here about 1-2 months after launch so I am sure now that the iPhone is established in SA we will get it in the same sort of time frame.

Where do you people get your info from? All that's out so far is a bunch of rumours?

Rumours (amd pics) from the same source(s) were right about the iPhone 3G; iPod nano and the unibody macbooks and thats just recent history...

I'd tend to agree with this - we got the new nano and shuffle quick(ish) - a month or two sounds plausible.

OUCH!! ...new hardware is imminent - did you not know this? :o

:) have you looked at my photo gallery? Take a look, then you will know why I got myself another one ;) besides I have a contract that was due for upgrade, and the phone was free :) got another contract due on the 27th going to get the 16Gb on that upgrade.

Let's just say... I'm hooked on the iPhone :D

As you wish but I should mention that there seem to be some new features that are not only OS 3.0 but require the new hardware... heres also hoping that we will see some return to form in terms of build quality - the 3G is a POS compared to the 1st gen... I never got used to it and to this day whenever I pick up my wifes (my old 1st gen) phone I get that old twinge of regret.

Hi all

I don't mean to sp@m the forum with multiple posts, but I put this up at the weekend and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts. Sorry for the double posting.

Can anyone help me here? After a month of trying to get tech to activate gprs on Virgin on my iphone, they finally just sent me a word doc with the below instruction in it. Problem is, I can't find "services" or anything they are talking about, so can't figure out how to use these instructions. I've already put in vdata in the apn field, but I still don't get any gprs signal.

Steps:
1. Open Services Menu.
2. Open Data Account.
3. Open GPRS.
4. Create/Edit Data Account and enter the following values:

MMS Data Account:

Account Name: Virgin MMS

User Name: leave it blank
Password: leave it blank
Auth. Type: Normal

GPRS Data Account:

Account Name: Virgin Internet

@SlinkyMike, I know what you mean I have my friends 1st gen and the built quality is great. As for the new/immenent model, I will wait and see, but most likely will get one :) and one for the wife. She was always of the opinion that a phone is a phone, that is until I got her the iPhone as a present for her promotion :D

@Paulcrill: have you serched this thread? As I remember there was a period during which people were trying to get things set up and the solution for each provider was posted as it was discovered.

BTW: these instructions they sent you are not for the iPhone (i.e.: there is no services menu which is why you cant find it...)

Hi SLinkyMike

Yeah,I've searched the forum. I can't find the answer anywhere. I can't believe they sent me the wrong fecking form. SO typical of Virgin. Right. Off to phone them again.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I want the new iphone!!!!
