A bit extreme for the S model no? it still looks like the 3G.
save the insurance for next major update I say.

I'm so glad it still looks exactly like the 3G model....didn't like any of the pics of the 'rumored designs' floating round on the net.

The video recording is a big plus + 7.2Mbps is not to be sniffed at.

Decisions, decisions. *sigh*

the turbosim bypasses the need for any unlock, and you can safely try without the turbosim and then just use the turbosim again if it doesn't work, there should be no need for restore

I did however read up on some forums, I think your phone is network locked, so, either use pwnage on a mac to modify the official 2.2.1 firmware to not update your baseband, or, check your bootloader to see if you can downgrade your baseband, if you use the modified firmware to update, you can install yellowsnow from cydia, and in that case you no longer need turbosim

you are going to have some issues on the new OS 3.0 though...

anyone want to put bets on OS 3.0 releasing today??? lots of rumors about a surprise limeted iPhone launch today as well..... here's hoping ><

hey hey, just tried using it without my turbosim, doesn't pick up any network signal. so i just put my turbosim and it picks up signal but now i cant get back onto the edge network. i tried ssh back in a modified plist and also made a apn setting. still nothing. internet for the apn user name. any suggestions?

phone off and on should do it...

if u used without turbosim, it should have told you it cannot use your sim at all, not just get no signal?

you said you're still on 2.1 right??

connect to cydia via wifi and download yellowsnow, restart your phone

make sure your sim does not have a pin on it though (put it in another phone, disable pin request)
 
iPhone OS 3.0

Apparently the final version of OS 3.0 is being seeded to developers. I NEEEEED IT! Tell me how guys and I promise an IRL high five one day :P

yeah turned off and my phone on numerous times, usually gets me back on edge, this time nothing for some reason. if i download yellowsnow, what does it do? sorry noob question.
 
dont think i can use yellowsn0w cos my modem firmware is 02.11.07 and my bootloader is 05.09.

bleak, dont know why i cant get back onto the vodacom edge.
