wooohooo!!!

after restoring backup and syncing data back to the phone on os 3.0 GM, my icons are back where they used to be, without me having to arrange them again the way i like.....

took them long enough, but i'm loving this.... lol

don't know what's different between you and me, but, my mms is back after restore, was the same with beta 5, i didn't have to upload a custom ipcc to get it to work

but then, i did stick to the first itunes 8.2 pre release, maybe it puts some of the settings back of the phone during the backup restore

I have the carrier settings but the button to enable/disable MMS is not available.

u have the right ipcc? my mms works

but i'm having issues with data network since uploading a new ipcc

had to do new ipcc because mms was available but not working
 
@roland, what is your feeling on Vodacom getting their ipcc updates ready by the time OS 3.0 is officially public? Shall we wait and see and if not I'll upload the ones I got from you somewhere for people to find?
 
I just rolled by my iTunes version, about to try the last ipcc I got from you.

I wouldn't say final release as some things could be changed before final realease.

But it's the GM seed.. Seeded to developers so they can test their apps for compatibility with the proposed final release of 3.0

I've got the 3G one (same filename as the link you provided) and the 2G one which is 1,1 instead of 1,2. Not updating though as i'm scared of breaking my unlock. Still not certain whether it updates baseband or not.

theron.roland and morkhans have already upgrade to it ;)

so it's the real GM seed, yes
 
@roland. MMS seems to be working for me with the last file I got from you.

do me a favor, open safari, check if your regular data works as well??

This is what i found on a site:

1) install GM seed on iPhone.
2) restore from back up or set up as new
3) uninstall official 8.2
4) uninstall apple mobile device support
5) install iTunes 8.2 tha shipped with beta 4

6) move your iTunes library file (itunes.itl) to a different location if it was updated with the official 8.2
7) open iTunes
8) update your ipcc file with this one

Update the same way you do the ipsw just change the file type to ipcc and navigate to the file
9) restart your phone and the mms options should be there
10) uninstall beta 4 iTunes 8.2
11) uninstall apple mobile device support
12) reinstall official 8.2 and replace the empty iTunes.itl with the one you moved. You should be good to go, provided your account is provisioned for mms.

havent done it so can't recommend anything though. ask theron or morkhans
