Not true..You need to use itunes 08.02.10 as any version after that wont let you update with ipcc files
"%ProgramFiles%\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
You can, with a simple command line command enable tethering in the latest releases.
For Windows:
Press the Windows Key + R, or start, run and copy, paste the above command into the text box. Then press enter.
Tried this and it's not working for me.
You going to be whacking that check for update button in iTunes every 5 seconds?![]()
Sorry, forgot the cmd bit. Not sure if that will make a difference.
Apparently you must shift-update not shift-restore to apply the ipcc on Windows. Lemme know as a matter of interest, as I have no need for the ipcc's.
Seems to work for me though. Shift-update and it allows me to browse for a .ipcc file
Thx
2 days to goI have resisted temptation! by the way I will have 2 x iPhones available for sale at the end of the month, both new in the box (got 2 upgrades due, so thought I would give back to the community and sell them for a steal
)
Still no official release of OS3?
Cupertino US is 9 hours behind us so if they release at midnight, its 5min to go til 09h00 local time.....
it is stored. Can't remember exact location but it's somewhere here
(posting from iPhone ATM so can't give exact location)
xp: c:/documents and settings/xx/appdata(hidden folder)/local/apple/
vista: c:/users/xx/appdata(hidden folder)/local/apple computer
somewhere there anyways. Search for the .ipsw file and you'll find it!
Yes you can use it for multiple iPhones ( as long as they are both the same model for the iPhone you downloaded it for e.g both 3G)
Bah! 12 midnight passed in Cupertino - so now its down to hitting the 'check for update' button every 5 min...
