dude mines also a locked one (2G) but the lock remains as there is no baseband upgrade.

so you have no need for ultrasnow.

- at the moment i'm sitting with an iBrick lol.. trying to restore this thing again is proving difficult..

Ya I know it's for 3G unlocking mainly but I read that it will unlock all iphones so would like to see if it's different from bootneuter, I don't like bootneuter to be honest :o even though it's brilliant I like to be able to go to stock after a restore.

How did you manage the ibrick?

typo :p

well i managed to restore after a lot of trouble, then i got the apple screen of death after rebooting after updating cydia components..

now im trying to restore the thing, keeps throwing the error 1600 again..

damn think these pwners have focused too much on the 3G and not the 2G...

ok, have you tried the DFU/error codes fix I posted?

Try it on a mac...

A simple DFU does jack.. Will only restore once you get the white screen (it's pretty random getting the white screen to come, but with QuickPwn RC3 it does it every time for some reason)

So i've been forced to DL 2.0.2 ipsw and QuickPwn RC3 to force it into a white DFU mode, and then restore.. Seems to have worked..

Wonder if I should update my Cydia components now or not?

Has anyone updated their Cydia stuff and rebooted successfully with 3.0 JB?

hmmm... odd, iphone.vodacom.za doesnt work. still get that crap about not being subscribed to a data network thing.
internet works though.

is it just me or does 3G seem a bit sketchy on 3.0?
i used to have 3G reception at home and now i only get gprs...
 
This is just to inform that I have successfully jailbroken my device with PwnageTool and another 3G device with redsn0w. Both were officially unlocked devices.

Overseas at the moment, so not interested in MMS - but has anyone managed to get MMS and tethering working on Voda? fxit, roland??
 
yea jailbreak stuff will be unstable, I'd give it a month, this is what happened after 2.0 remember ;)
people went from installer to cydia because of it.

Unfortunately fxit doesn't have a 3G , so there's no MMS and tethering..

As if Apple couldn't give us 2G'ers MMS support.. Damn milkers..

Want to get the 3GS though :)

APparently this causes the Apple of Death i.e. cannot boot up the phone
