OS 3.O and tethering - the trade off

right

so

tethering is possible

here's the downside, configuring mms breaks it, big time

so, if you completely understand that you should not even try to configure mms if you want tethering to work, send me an email, and i'll send you an ipcc

if you don't know what to do with an ipcc, then you have no business trying, so don't

Will this have any effect on Swirly MMS - I don't suppose you have it to test it?

I'm guessing that old ipcc I have from beta 2 days won't work...

Please mail it to me..

edit:
but I guess expecting them to support 3.0 mms and tethering come June was asking for too much.

Just did it on my dads, same problem. Put the phone into DFU mode, try to restore to the custom firmware. Throws error 1600..

The only way I could restore both mine and my dads was by using the QuickPwn RC3 and selecting firmware 2.0.2, putting it in DFU mode, waiting until it does the bootloader exploit (this is when the white screen comes), unplugging it, quitting QuickPwn, and quickly firing up iTunes and restoring while the white screen is there.

Worked great :) Would have had an iBrick otherwise..
 
I was able to restore a pwned firmware without going into dfu, dfu is only needed for certain settings.

Not as easy as the Vodacom one as MTN, CellC, Virgin Mobile are not official carriers. So we'll have to make a custom carrier bundle which will be a little bit trickier.

Will let you guys know once I decide to mess around with it tho.

Okay I did it, my beloved Iphone is upgraded to OS3.0 & I did the Jailbreak thing WOW CYDIA is everything I was told it would be. Thank you to the guru's (Fxit_man, Aqua & Roland) your advice here in the forum has been great. I would have messed up my baby if it was not for you guys (or gals :p not sure about your gender)

Am I the only one that finds the new message icon annoying? think it would be better as 2 speech bubbles not one big blank bubble. :\
