LOL! :D

Dammit, been struggling to get my -new- jailbroken 3.0 back to business, sbsettings just locked up bog time while installing, for some reason my data connection only kicks in after a while when rebooting (and NO, I haven't been messing with the IPCC's) :(

How to: Enable Battery % Indicator on < 3GS

1. Download M86AP.plist from here
http://www.4shared.com/file/113188452/9434236e/M68AP.html

2. Go to /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app/ and replace the M86AP.plist with the downloaded one from above (make a backup in case)

3. Settings -> General -> Usage and there will be a Battery Percentage toggle

Which app are you guys using to be able to open the root?

OpenSSH?

I hate OpenSSH, rather try this: ;)
1. Open Cydia and move to the Search section
2. write “iPhone-notes” in the search and install the repository
3. Go to the “Changes” and install the package called “asBattery”
4. Install it
5. Reboot iPhone

[EDIT]: I just noticed there's an option in SBSettings under "more->extras and options" to enable battery percentage

Yeah definitely Grimspoon :(
It fluctuates as well, sometimes the apps open and close fine, and other times the animations freak out a bit. I'm hoping they'll release some performance updates soon enough...(then again, it might be that the iPhone's reaching its performance limit...enter 3GS - aaargh, it never ends!)

Ok, well at least it is not just me. :o

I would actually consider going back to 2.2.1. The "upgrades" to me are really not worth the performance knock to be honest. The only thing I actually like or use is the landscape modes thoughout the phone.

I won't go that far. The animations feel slower but the apps etc. seem to be fine. Come to think of it, I'm sure they'll be able to fix that in future...so far the 3.0 updates have been a godsend as far as I'm concerned, never thought copy&paste would be all that but I've noticed that it does actually come in pretty handy. But more than that it's the small things that make life better, like being able to select multiple images for delete, the ability to switch between landscape/portrait while typing... I'd say give it some time, when 2.0 was released it took a few incremental updates to sort out the performance issues and 2.0 wasn't nearly such a huge update. (It seems Apple has a habit of releasing software and then spending some time to make it faster afterward (even on the desktops OS's), a habit I wish Microsoft would adopt :))

O ya forgot about copy paste, that is indeed a god send.

I guess will just have to wait for some updates to address the performance knock. Sooner rather than later I hope.

I another thing that is a bit crap is that when I click on mail, it no longer receives mail automatically, I have to go into each accounts inbox and then only does it do a receive. Before I just had to hit mail and it got mail for all my accounts.

Classy! :)

...not slower everywhere - actually faster in most places but with one (very irksome) exception: hitting the home button has about 1 second delay before comitting the action... thats juuust long enough to create enough doubt to make you hit it twice which results in homescreen->search->swipe back to 1st SB page.

Its a small annoyance but it sets of a chain of events that proves to be a true embuggerance.

Whats the bet they made it slower on purpose so that we all want to upgrade to the 3GS :D

Crafty bunch of buggers!

Im busy downloading 3.0 right now. Is it worth it? Or is it too slow?

Please help!:confused::confused:

I mean yeah I would say it is worth it for landscape, copy paste and a few other things...Its not painfully slow, But I deffinately notice my phone is sluggish compared to the old version.

Dude, we can have a whole discussion about this for days one end, the fact is that even considering staying on 2.2.1 (or whatever) is a FAIL. Why? because soon enough you'll start seeing the "Requires 3.0 or higher"-message on all the new cool apps you're trying to install... :D

On a side note, 3.0 is f@#$ng AWESOME!

OK im 20% through the download so i could cancel but im gonna go for it...:D

thanks!

3.0 feels faster for me on my 2G compared to 2.2.1, maybe because I never had a fresh install in some time but it feels faster and boots faster.

Haven't seen any slower performance since installing OS 3, in fact, it seems apps are closing much faster when you hit the home button and opens at the same speed as before + Google maps seems to be on steroids.

I think Apple will be fine tuning OS 3 in the near future and we will have a few more updates.
