the most recent one where i go ape at vodacom yes

having said that

anyone on here still up that has 3G and applied the newly available ipcc??

Just updated the old "no service" 2G to 3.0 and redsn0wed (0.7.2). All went smoothly on Windows 7 RC 64bit :)

I opted for Icy over Cydia.

hmm... i've noticed that if i have both on my phone, only cydia picks up the latest updates to apps, icy doesn't :( sorry to only tell u this now... lol

all issues on 0.7.2 related to cydia, well, mainly

oh rad, where can you download the vodacom ipcc? bad time to ask?

Please excuse the lurker delurking :D

WRT to MMS & Internet Tethering, I have posted the correct ipcc files for Vodacom & MTN on my blog in this post:

http://www.marcforrest.com/2009/06/22/enable-vodacom-iphone-mms-tethering-2/

It works like a bomb on Vodacom and the guys that have downloaded the MTN one say it works 100%
This is the carrier file Vodacom SHOULD have uploaded to apple when 3.0 was released.

Shout if you have any questions

I would install this, but my house is in the sticks - no 3G reception =( so I have no use for tethering ATM and my MMS is working fine...

My iphone 3G seems to be eating credit slowly

My iphone 3G with os 3.0 seems to be slowly eating credit away cent by cent. Think it may have something to do with the new push notification features that have been added. anyone else having this problem?

if anyone's having issues with the ipcc posted earlier, give me a shout, been working with the guy who developed it to come up with a more stable version, if you're not having issues don't worry... (call drops are one of the symptoms, don't ask...)

will test it at work 2day where there is 3g reception, works fine at home with gprs and send & receiving mms.

Hey roland, what exactly do i need to do with the IPCC to get it working, i've never messed around with those files?

Where you downloading from, you should not be downloading from unknown sites - iClarified has all the files needed for jailbreaking with very clear instructions.

I noticed that. Was kinda hoping it would sort itself out later so I'll check it again in a day or so. Otherwise it's restore and JB with Cydia.

Hi Roland, nope still not working for me (non jailbreak phone) MMS is going through on GPRS but not on 3G.
Any chance that it is because I have a ported number (084xxx)?

@Theron & Marc - tested at work with 3g enabled and in 3g reception area - no issues - can browse, MMS and spoke for 1/2 hour to friend in Palm Beach with no issues - I'm happy - looks like a winner.

Yip, this morning I tested it again, and its working fine, made two phone calls, chatted for about 10 minutes and no problems

Hi Guys

I have confirmed and it is stated that APPLE decides on functionality, configuration & roll out to the various networks globally. Current indications from Apple is that this functionality will be made available during August i.e. MMS and tethering.

Regards
VodacomData

I'm Sorry, why has nobody called bull**** on this one yet? Apple responsible? really?? How is Apple supposed to configure these settings? These are network settings, YOUR network settings, your responsibility!

A more likely scenario, is that Vodacom were caught napping, didn't bother to test the 3.0 betas, had no idea that tethering/MMS were on their way and were simply just not ready for the 3.0 launch on the 17th. This is supported by the fact that NONE of your staff even knew that there was an update out or that the iPhone now supports MMS.

On a similar note, how can you have people in Vodacom's iPhone department who are not aware of the goings on in the iPhone world. They should be fully trained and briefed prior to any major releases. Come on man, this is basic BASIC customer service.

Vodacom have had more than enough time to prepare for this. Blaming it on Apple is unprofessional, and cowardly. #brandminus

+1 - and now you have members of the public configuring your networks settings for you - damn thats bad.

i'm having the same issue, can get everything working except mms over 3G

I've now got a slightly more stable version of this same ipcc

spent last nigh from around 11 to 2am with the original creator of the first ipcc figuring things out

if ANYONE can give some insight to the mms working over 3G, we'd appreciate it

for those who can mms over 3G, did you edit the mms settings at all??
