Nope, used the ipcc as is, but have to mention as you know , am on MTN, so don't know if this is where the difference lie

i'm having the same issue, can get everything working except mms over 3G

I've now got a slightly more stable version of this same ipcc

spent last nigh from around 11 to 2am with the original creator of the first ipcc figuring things out

if ANYONE can give some insight to the mms working over 3G, we'd appreciate it

for those who can mms over 3G, did you edit the mms settings at all??

Nope, installed the IPCC, rebooted and checked if my MMS settings were still there and correct, and they were.

My speedtest.net results (paired over bluetooth):

...this may be considered more Vodacom than iPhone related but for the purposes of testing out the 'new' functionality... there it is :)

BTW:
Marc & Roland - thank you very much.
Vodacom - &*%$ you very much.

I have no noticed an interesting quirk, when I type an sms, there is no "clickety - click" sound from the keyboard, after awhile it slowely fades in

Would mxit be able to be a push notification app?

Only if they implement (and I think you have to pay Apple to use the service as far as I know). Would be useful though, but so far my PUSH apps seems damn unstable, the developers (of BeejiveIM) has commented on this and says the problem lies with Apple's servers. Apparently there's not queuing in the push functionality yet, so it seems like it's a hit and miss situation...if the push message goes through you're A-OK, but when there's a bad data connection things get hairy.... hope it's improved soon, since the functionality seems great when it works, I actually prefer it infinitely more than multitasking.

The other problem is that I don't pay for the -push- apps I'm currently using, and as long as it remains too unstable to be viable I'm not going to spend $16 on an app that has all the functionality of free IM apps, but with unstable/crappy push (no matter whose fault it is)

I use BeeJive. Push has been flawless?

Really? Dammit dude, I've been using it since yesterday and the stability is awful. But I'm starting to think it's not the apps fault. Do you get 3G reception at home?

[EDIT] I keep losing my data connection, I can't even open sites in Safari periodically...I've never had this problem before :(

Worth while making a suggestion to mxit?

Don't think they would be willing to pay for it though...

depends on where I am in my house... lounge has Wi-fi, bedroom just Edge... but as I walk outside the house i get 3G... and it jumps between connections fine... havent missed an IM since.

I did notice a little instabilty when i Added facebook chat to the mix. I want to take that off and see if it improves

Dammit, can't access the internet at all from my phone... :(

Really? hahaha....Thanks for the info dude. I had to reset my network settings on my device (have never used that button) to get my internet to work again...eish...So many bugs in OS 3.0 to sort out, the smart thing is always to rather wait for a 3.x release, but that not gonna happen!! :)

So when I have MTN sim in my phone I can mms just fine, when I put my vodacom sim in /FAIL/ WTF is up with that? YES I changed all the relevant fields to the VC settings. Why must VC be such a pain in the rear? My MTN mms worked 1st time evrytime. (common question WHY DID YOU SWAP SIMS? So that my em ployer can not get hold of me for the next 3 days and I can rest with being called in to work AS USUAL) so any other obvious question you wanna ask? :p

what must I do to get the Satan forsaken VC contract sim to mms from my beloved Iphone?

On twitter:

iphone_devWe're looking into the push notification issue on hacktivated iPhones and will update you when we learn more.

I've been using the aim free app to check the push service and it has been flawless so far but i notice my credit is slowly dropping cent by cent constantly. Is this because of push? If so is vodacom gonna do something about supporting push properly?

My Beejive is suddenly working like a charm ... hope it keeps this up.

[EDIT] Apparently there's problems with push support and -unofficially-unlocked phones. It makes sense I guess...
