The iPhone Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Quick question guys, I have created a Wi-Fi 'network' on my laptop which I use when home, but while this works with my iPod (touch) it doesn't work with the iPhone (4). The phone connects to the network but won't connect to the internet. Anyone know why this may be so? Like I said the 'hotspot' works on the touch but no the phone...I turned off cellular data on the phone for this experiment.

try and reset ur network settings and re-add the wifi network
 
does anyone know how i can get Lockinfo for free? Says my trial is going to expired on the 1st December.. :) Aweh

Same here. Just thought I'd give Kik a try, but unfortunately not many people I know are using it yet.

I've started using Waze as well, the social navigation app. Looks pretty cool and there seems to be quite a few people using it on my route from PTA to JHB. :D

Did you pull it from the official site? I have never had a problem with that but there are dodgy copies out there.

hey folks, anyone having an issue with registering a US itunes account?

Followed the steps exactly, but when I click on the final page where you have to put in voucher number, address it keeps on saying 'could not verify credit card details'. This is even after I clicked 'no payment' option which takes away the boxes with the credit card details.

any ideas?

Did you choose a free app?

Yes, the heuristic engine picks up a part of the code that does something it sees as a threat. Used it and all is well though. Thanks
