well hj i look at it this way

he has started in just about every game this season, its been a great season so he cannot be that bad if you ask me

he is a decent defender and i dont know if we could find anybody better to be honest

glad he came to sense and realized nobody would offer him more than 50k, it must kill him that ferdinand just signed at 120k a week hahaha

Do you realise how many times the other defenders needed to rectify his mistakes. countless ...

he is not even close to a decent defender ...

so catch your telling me that brown sucks so badly that united are offering him a contract plus 50k a week?
i dunno man

personally i dont think he is that bad and cannot think of anybody united could buy to replace him

I'm finally gonna have my say about Wes Brown. I personally think he has done a really good job in Neville's absence. We only conceded 17 goals this season from about 34 games I think? On average, we concede a goal every 2 games. That's way better than most teams in the EPL. I think he has been criticised far too much. We only seem to remember the mistakes he has made, yet easily forget the good work he has done. Give the guy some credit.

yeah just doesnt make sense at all. I would rather give Simpson more play because he has much more talent than Brown.

Look, I just hate Brown ( with passion) so im going to say anything to put him down.

He has been such a cost. He gets forward whenever he can and does not contribute anything. His crossing is terrible.I would have preferred him to leave.

lets pray that ferguson find a top class RB, so WB will have to sit on bench as 3rd option.

yea but vidic and ferdinand have an awesome combination

yea but i think ferdinand struggles a bit without vidic to be honest

i think to be honest that vidic is one of the best defenders in england and should be the one hitting a new 120k contract

also what i like is when vidic and ferdinand are playing evra gets forward alot more than if they not and evra looks like he could a great midfielder but his role as defence is awesome because he is i would say the best attacking defender in england

Only just. Look at how many goals we have conceded since Vidic and Ferdinand have been out...

and going back last season, last 5 games without Rio and Vidic, how many points did we get ? 8/15 which is only 53% of points won. That is VERY poor, so(killa and co.) dont come make excuses that Brown is part of the great defence, he is nothing close to good.

I agree.

The rest of the defence carries him- they always do.

is it only me who sees a damn fine record over those games

apart from the middles game which is all honesty united did not handle the conditions as well as middles and had nothing to do with poor defence

dont think that is to bad and i also dont see where we have conceded so many goals

its early and i have a long trip to day but by my count thats 4 goals in 12/13 matches

hardly what you call poor form

How are you missing the point ? These fine defensive records are due to Ferdinand and Vidic. Wes Brown plays a very small part to that fine defense.

So it's obvious that if Ferdinand and Vidic are absent that we concede more. They are the heart of our defence and obviously if they are absent, teams are going to look to exploit that. Brown has got nothing to do with Vidic and Ferdinand. The fact that they are scoring where Ferdinand and Vidic are absent, indicates that Brown is doing a good job, else they would've attacked through Brown's area, but they didn't, they attacked through the centre where Vidic and Ferdinand were. Also, if Ferdinand and Vidic are there, we still have an excellent defence, which can only mean that every defender is doing a stirling job. I would've thought that they would target Brown cos Vidic and Ferdinand are tough to get through, but yet we still have an excellent defence. We conceded 2 against Middlesbrough. So what? It happens. More importantly, it happens once in a blue moon. You can't blame Brown for United conceding 2 especially since Ferdinand and Vidic were absent and those are the areas they exploited. Or maybe you expect Brown to run around the whole backline defending, doing every defender's job. Brown can only defend on the right cos that's where he is placed. He can't leave that position and run around to defend other areas, cos then he's position is vacant and then he needs to depend on midfielders to do his qualified job. It's different for a midfielder who can run around the whole place and do defending(cos he knows that the defenders are in their place), but a defender needs to be on his spot, marking his man otherwise teams will get through and score. Imagine if everyone just started running around and defending randomly. We would sit in the bottom half of the log. Anyway, like you said, you don't like the guy so nothing we say would ever satisfy you. That's my last say on the matter.

He is a poor player. He is poor in defence and provides nothing at all in attack.

There are a number of better players in that position in the United squad, and countless others throughout the league.

Nowadays it is essential that wide defenders can bring something to the attack as well. Brown simply cannot.
