This was in response to 697 rockets and 822 mortar bombs fired at Israeli towns.

Not sure where you get your facts, but they fired at Israeli towns and not occupied territories.

Remember the Arabs attacked them.

If you elect a terrorist group as you government you must expect some consequences.

Where are these israelie towns. Take a closer look. Its on palestinan lands (double check).

The israelies have been usurping land from the palestinans for years.

Talking about rockets

Does any sane person really believe the lies and propaganda coming out of Israel right now?

Stuart Littlewood has the following to say about all this:

There are no rockets coming out of the West Bank. Yet the illegal Israeli occupation there continues and so does the ethnic cleansing, the land theft, the illegal settlements, the colonization, the demolition of Palestinian homes, the throttling of the economy, the abduction and 'administrative detention' of civilians and the massive interference with freedom of movement. Nothing has changed for West Bank Palestinians who DO NOT fire rockets. There is no sign of an end to their misery.

How can that not be counted as a victory?

Because Israel failed to destroy them.

By not launching rockets they get left alone, but not idle.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hezbollah_rocket_force

The Israeli government made statements regarding Hezbollah's increased ability for air defense in limiting the Israeli ability to invade Lebanese airspace, particularly in sphere of reconnaissance and surveillance operations

As they say, time will tell.

This is like a murder suspect in court. The judge says: "You are guilty of killing so-and-so." The murder suspect says: "But I am not killing him now!"

Good thing too, otherwise these idiots would be firing these rockets at Jerusalem and not Ashkelon right now.

Israel name change

Just a gentle request: Would you please stop referring to Israel, and rather use the correct term: US-rael.

US weapons used to kill civilians
US money
US protection at the UN

US-rael

But was that Israel's stated purpose in that instance? They have effectively neutered the threat.

Israel wanted their soldiers back, so they agreed to exchange prisoners for soldiers.

A seemingly easier way of wiping Israel off the map. Nice try!
Seems like rockets are not working! Unfortunately, this will also fail.

You could try "arserael" to go with the "hamarse" in the tag and being bandied about. ;)

Well then point us to it, since you seem to be skipping over the topic. Or do you just not have an answer?

Oh.. and I forgot to add this...
Several commentators, such as CNN's Arabic department, have claimed that the transcript of the April 13 show (2007) provided by MEMRI contains numerous translation errors and undue emphases. Brian Whitaker, the Middle East editor for the Guardian newspaper (UK), wrote in a blog for the newspaper that in the translation of the video, showing Farfour eliciting political comments from a young girl named Sanabel, the MEMRI transcript misrepresents the segment, by attributing a sentence said by Farfour, ("I'll shoot"), to the child, and ignoring the child's statement ("I'm going to draw a picture").[78]

Whitaker further criticized MEMRI's translation. He and others commented that a statement uttered by the same child, ("We're going to [or want to] resist"), had been given an unduely aggressive interpretation by MEMRI as ("We want to fight"). Also, where MEMRI translated the girl as saying the highly controversial remark ("We will annihilate the Jews"), Whitaker and others, including Arabic speakers used by CNN, insist that based on careful listening to the low quality video clip, the girl is variously interpreted as saying, "The Jews [will] shoot[] us"[78] or "The Jews are killing us."[79] Other sources have also pointed out that MEMRI's translation "I will commit martyrdom" should more accurately have been "I'll become a martyr" - a passive statement rather than an active/agressive threat.[80]

Memri is an Israeli propagandist organization that does most translations on it's own, take it with a pinch of salt unless you know exactly what is being said.
