The Offical PSL Thread

"Orlando Pirates, let me tell you before you get tjatjarag. This is a revolutionary Nedbank cup. You know nothing about revolutionary cups here. Here you win games and behave or else you jump. Don’t laugh, don’t come here with that black & white tendency. You can do it somewhere else in Orlando, not here. If you're going to continue undermining other PSL teams and not win any trophy for another decade, you're in the wrong league. Rubbish is what your players play on the pitch. You're a small team, you can't win anything. Go out to 1st division, you useless agent."

ROFL!

BAAS TED, you bloody agent!

Wits just booked their place at Soccer City with an extra time win over FS Stars.

Free State Stars 1 - 3 Wits.

Amazulu beat Mamelodi Sundowns 4 - 3 on penalties, after the game ended 1 all after extra time.

Amazulu will now play Wits at Soccer City on 22 May in the Nedbank Cup final.

Wits beat Amazulu 3-0, to become 2010 Nedbank Cup champions. they bag R6 million, and a place in the 2011 CAF Confederation Cup.

Well, that's it for the season. Well done to Supersport United (PSL Champs), Wits (Nedbank Cup), Kaizer Chiefs (Telkom Knockout) and Golden Arrows (MTN 8)

Alright so the new season is just 10 days away....

Any predictions?
Any news?

Check the new psl trophy out! Uefa Champions league look a like

I really hope South Africans in general can at least make an effort to go to a random game once in a while.
Just as the marketing manager for the PSL states... he wants the nation to be soccertized! Lets get some support going.
Yes it may not be as classy and flashy as the EPL but real support needs to start locally before it magically transforms overnight.

I must say Pirates have some firepower this season with the signings of Mark Mayambela,Daine Klate and Segolela returning from Celtic. Lets hope they can at least keep us entertained!

I just hope the other 'big' teams can challenge Supersport and its not 4 in a ROW.

:D

I actually made a new thread for the new season: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/254934-The-2010-11-Premier-Soccer-League-Thread

The new trophy looks great though. :D

Impressive numbers for Cape Town, however ...
it will be interesting to see if such attandance stays at that level going forward even for non double-header fixtures and after those who could not afford to attend world cup matches have had a chance to "tour" the new stadium.

Not to burst the bubble, but this thread should be locked, or at least left to die. We have a new 2010-11 season thread.

The actual expected "good" attendance would be 20k plus. 45k was perhaps a once off thing but even 20k is 10 times the 2,000 in Durban

Only Kaizer Chiefs is able to pull anything close to 20K per game. So I would say that even that is a very optimistic estimate. The DBN stadium also recorded impressive numbers before the WC but now that the novelty is gone very few people will bother to watch Amazulu play Wits or Santos at MM
