The Official BlackBerry Bold 9900 Thread

Guys, Tapatalk isn't free, is it worth it? also best weather app? BerryWeather looks awesome, but is $10

I see nashau have the 9900 on special. here its R30 less than the vodacom price. It does say Total cost R399. If I'm able to upgrade my vodacom contract, can I do it at Nashau?

It says R399 total - but also says R50 device fee - so be careful they aren't misleading you...?

be very very very careful, Nashua is always more expensive, always. I am paying about 30 more than what it would cost on mtn, both on the same special

just got an upgrade on my work phone...the bold 9900 on mtn.
anyone know where I can get charging pod for the 9900? what's the price for them?

Is MTN taking orders for the 9810?
Which MTN outlet?
Any idea when it will be available and at what cost?
What are the contract offerings?

I have put my name down at the Umhlanga store for the 9810 ,They will phone me when it arrives. Its showing R329 pm on the MTN Anytime 200. Which is the same price as the 9800? They are unsure of the release date, one store said end October but I aint believing that!

I hope they are right and you get it at that price by end October.
BTW, around mid Sep, I went to the MTN outlet at Wesbank HO in Fairlands and was told that they will have the 9900 from 15 October, at R249/per month. Boy, was that okey wrong, - the new brochure has it at R459pm!

Try Vodaworld.
And if they don't have any, you could try one of the China Malls! (although I wouldn't be caught dead shopping at those places)

VERY late response. Tapatalk isn't free, and Accuweather was released on Thursday I think for the Bold 9900 .. still my favourite weather app

My friend went to go buy the 9900 on monday, but he is taking it back for the 9780 cos he hates the battery. Dont blame him, my 9900 battery sucks!

As soon as you update to any version higher than what ships with the phone, the battery gets MUCH better, its a shame because its a fantastic phone, could never imagine having to use a 9780 instead of it

He is quite impatient, so if i told him to update the software he would prob be like wtf NO - but now that you have told me i think i will definitely try an upgrade! can you tell me how much more battery life you got?

I only had the old OS for a day, first day i had the phone, left home at 1:30 with battery on 75%, got back at 4 with battery on ±30%, but that was with HEAVY usage, and in an area with crappy signal/BIS coverage. Upgraded that night, and now depends on the usage (generally i am a heavy user) but the phone can get through a day, i have even had it last 1.5 days, but you need to remember that everything is always updating in the background and all that, haven't tried very hard to conserve battery life. I must add in that i feel with .440 the battery life is very manageable.

That said, .474 was just released (hand full of hours ago) so very excited about that, not sure when i will get around to installing it, it is busy downloading at least. I will report back any findings from the new OS
